Re: A pity that this place is so quiet
Nail on the head with this post. This place started out with great energy and promise. A place to have reasoned conversations and a laugh. But as always happens power corrupts and Il Duce, the gubunator let it go to his head and banned people left right and centre. Then you can't even mention plank...

I have also never used a bidet and the very thoughts of them make me feel a little queasy. Are they used instead of wiping I wonder?

Re: Post what's on your mind
I was in the shops today and decided to try on a pair of Skims. For those (all of you  ) who don't know that that is they are an underwear/shape wear/lounge wear brand. In I went to the changing room armed with two bodysuit yokes for a "smooth" finish. How do women wear such things? S...

Re: Israel and Palestine
Well if looking at the psychology then you are looking at what is behind the attitude and actions of the parties as a means of explanation (not excuse) of the forces that brought on those actions. Presumably you are looking at both sides of this conflict and how they both take people off the street...

Re: Israel and Palestine
You might very well be correct, as I read that the head of Hamas might have visited the hostages. If that is true then no doubt the treatment of the hostages was & is tightly controlled. That could be one/the explanation for the different behaviour the hostages experienced while being held. It ...

Re: Israel and Palestine
I have my own - unsubstantiated - suspicions around the murder of innocent civilians on the 7th. Why did some go on a rampage? I also find it difficult to equate the reported behaviour of Hamas members regarding their captives and the indiscriminate murders of the 7th. Something does not sit right....

Re: Israel and Palestine
Something is very odd. I will see if I can post a video. Hamas members talking with Red Cross workers and all looks very calm. Helping hostages in to the vans l, waves and smiles. I would find it very difficult to even stand beside a member of a monstrous group of people let alone speak. If I needed...

Re: Israel and Palestine
Some video clips being shared of the released Israeli prisoners being thankful to the Hamas personnel for their kindness and respect. Apparently they were kept in groups and even had radio in at least one situation. Medicines were supplied as well as food ... although both are very scarce in Gaza a...

Re: None of ye noticed ... but I'll tell ye anyway.
Oh, definitely me! But my friend is just that: a mad, penniless artist. I once witnessed her scrape the paint off a canvas because she couldn't afford to buy a new one. She'd turned down an offer of 200€ for the painting at an exhibition a couple of weeks before because she felt it was worth 400€ :...

Re: Annoyances & Irritations
I'm doing a bit of training. The content is interesting but the delivery isn't. We have been given homework and this morning I was interrogated about whether I have the material printed. I do not because I have a laptop a monitor and a phone. That's good enough for me. And don't ask me to read aloud...

Re: Israel and Palestine
It has been reported that Egypt will allow those with foreign passports to pass through, including dual citizenship. Hopefully that at least comes to pass. Up to 7000 people it seems will be able to cross through Rafah including people who need medical attention. I read that Biden is calling for a ...

Re: Israel and Palestine
I understand Israel's defence of itself and the need to retaliate. What Hamas did (well bandwagon jumpers of them anyways) was horrific. I read one account where the phone of one had a voicemail to his mother delighting in what he had done, talking about "Jews blood on my hands". That is p...

Re: Post what's on your mind
It's like a sarcastic parody of other online posters. For example if one is of the opinion that Russell Brand is totally guilty of all that he's being accused of they might sarcastically post something like "iT's a MediA wiTCh HuNt!!" as a dig against people who do think it is actually a ...

I don't really think about others in that way. There are some Irish people that I like and would vote for if there was a "name your favourite Irish person" competition. A sort of Lovely Girls but for personality :D John Creedon. Michael Harding. I seem to have reached a blank. I thought th...

More accounts of his behaviour coming out. This from The Times: "When Lisa allegedly refused to have another threesome with Brand, she says he “took it quite badly” and was “very instantly quite annoyed”. Lisa was wearing skinny jeans and an Ed Hardy hoodie and she remembers Brand becoming angr...

Re: Russell Brand
I literally have no idea what is the truth of these allegations - I'm surprised they are in the media instead of being in court or under police investigation where there are procedures for such allegations. It's amazing how different the responses to the stories are, shows how absolutely polarised ...

Exactly - I feel desperately sorry for the woman who he clearly did rape but saying “he didn’t call me” or regretting sleeping with someone who treats you bad is not the same. That being said he has never come across as a particularly decent human being and his career is effectively over. I do stan...

I'm with PS on this one. There's been a run of reports in the French media recently of women being "raped" in the street and other "public" locations. In every single instance where details were given, it was various degrees of groping or what used to be called heavy petting. Su...

Re: Russell Brand
The allegations against Brand show him to be predatory and unstable. Sure he has spoken in the past about his promiscuity and addiction but the accounts given by those women paint a different picture. "...Before the first time they had sex, Alice says she told him she was a virgin and claims he...
