How far can an unqualified person go with installing a new power circuit in his home?

I'm installing two new power circuits in my home office. I've already mounted the dado trunking and I will run the electrical cables from the fusebox through the attic to the office (not connected to either end). How much further can I go before I get a REC? Can I wire up the 13 amp sockets and leav...

Re: What are your biking plans once Covid is gone?

@WestWicklow 1, will do. Yeah, going with BF. All 4 sailings were fully booked when I booked my trip in January , I got literally the last spot. They only allow 20 bikes per ferry. They have 3 price options but mine has no refund Well done. We eventually booked for Oct 8th but having "been the...

Re: Would you buy a new bike without a test ride?

Tell me more about the Royal Enfield. I been thinking about one myself. Had the originals back in the day, along with AJ's Matchless and all the BSA's. And no I wouldn't buy any bike that I couldn't test drive. I never had any of the originals. My brother has an original Clipper and he loves it. Th...

Would you buy a new bike without a test ride?

In 2019 I bought a new Royal Enfield Himalayan. I had no problem taking a demo for four hours from BikeWorld. Now I want to buy a Honda CB500X and a Honda CRF300L but no test rides are available and almost every dealer says "No need for a demo, these bikes sell themselves". To me that's BS...

I'm not planning that far ahead!!!

I'm making my fourth attempt this September or October to get over to do the Portuguese ACT (Adventure Country Tracks).

Re: This is what I did to my bike today

Good stuff, working on a side stand extension for my bike to avoid the bike toppling over on campsite ground for Spain. Such a tricky bike is the ER6f, the side when up runs too close to the chain! Have a makeshift rubber attachment fitted but so difficult to attach a thick pad or mount. Nearly the...

Re: Online shops for Bike gear and parts

Please read xlmoto's feedback on google maps before ordering. Wish I had.

Also note, although they say free returns within 60 days, they charge you £7.95 (yes, sterling even though they are a Swedish company) restocking and handling fee.

This is what I did to my bike today

Did it yesterday... I did The Boreen Run last week and used the Yamaha Serow 250. It was a shake-down for doing the Portuguese ACT (Adventure Country Tracks) later this year (hopefully). Anyway, I found that I needed to adjust the preload on the rear shock so did it when I returned as I didn't have ...
