Re: Presidential Election 2025
I don't have to trawl up the links but it was widely acknowledged and reported and admitted by councillors and TDs that instructions were given during the nomination process as to the blocking of some candidates. It was blatant, it was legal but in no way was it in the interests of democracy. So ba...

Re: Presidential Election 2025
I dont think Kelleher would have won. But in fairness he's hardly going to come out and say "Yeah, Connolly would have absolutely spanked me." Just a way of applying more pressure on Martin

Re: Trump wins fifa peace prize
Objectively speaking he started no wars and ended many. He’s the only US president in my life time who seems opposed to war. No one will recognize it though because of TDS. The World Cup belongs in places like the USA, not Qatar or Russia. FIFA are a byword in corruption and will give the tournamen...

Re: A 'movement' for a 'new republic'
You are a troll and not a very smart one. We can all trace our beginnings to Adam and Eve - or Africa. The point which is clearly lost on you is that we Geals as a distinct ethnic group and our native language Irish as in Gaelic/Gaeilge originated in Ireland which is named in our stead. You mention...

Re: A 'movement' for a 'new republic'
English is not native in the sense that it is not indigenous. However it has been spoken on this on Island for so long that it has become another aspect of our culture. And I can't see that changing anytime soon

Re: The reunification of Ireland - news, history, debate and analysis
They are absolutely correct, this was entirely predictable given the campaign that some/ many of Connolly's supporters ran against Humphreys. That Sinn Féin backed Connolly and allowed this to happen was a major screw up in terms of their overall objective. It'd make you question if the party leade...

Re: United Kingdom Politics
. I don't know if anyone has noticed the constituency map GB News uses - but when it shows the Reform colour for constituencies, it intentionally colours Lough Neagh the Reform colour to make stupid English people think Reform has a foothold in the occupied 6 counties of Ireland. . It's well spotte...

Re: Embarrassed for NYC
https://www.bbc.com/news/live/cg51m5emnmvt 24 years after 9/11 killed 3,000 of their people, the next generation of New Yorkers have voted in someone who has openly supported those who did it. Pissing ok the memories of the dead. Can you provide a link to where he openly supported them. Not saying ...

Re: The reunification of Ireland - news, history, debate and analysis
No, not semantics - more to do with grammar. And you should have no regrets anytime you learn something new. Mary Lou McDonald was a SF Presidential candidate - elected unopposed. Ní Riada was a Sinn Fein candidate for the President of Ireland. . To be fair you're 100% correct. But it does seem sli...

Re: The reunification of Ireland - news, history, debate and analysis
Wrong - she was never a SF Presidential candidate, and she never wore a poppy. She was a Sinn Fein candidate for the President of Ireland though. Micheál Martin said he would NEVER wear a poppy, until he did - just another lie from Micheál Martin, but his British/Unionist handlers love him. Poor Fi...

He would have been - she’d be worse!! That vile cow called people wanting to discuss Pakistani rape gangs as “dog whistle racists”. She is scum. Saying she wants Labour to “lurch to the left”. Re: Presidential Election 2025
Well, getting back to the actual Presidential Election. If Humphreys crashes and burns, and it's looking that way. You have to think it's bye bye Harris. So far he's been a shambolic leader. But in some ways he exemplifies the moral and political bankruptcy at the heart of FG

Re: Presidential Election 2025
Based on that poll we can stick a fork in this Presidential campaign. It's done. But by Christ, it's been the poorest set of candidates that I can remember. I'll be giving my vote to Connolly, not because I particularly agree with her. But because she performance wise she's been a shade better then ...

Re: Presidential Election 2025
Interestingly as Gavin remains on the ballot and any vote for him will be valid and counted, if people vote for him out of protest he could very well end up with more votes then if he's stayed in the contest.
