Re: Woodworking Tools
A lot of base model smoothing planes were often bought for planing the bottom of a door when new carpet was fitted - back when people went from lino to fitted carpets. At least thats how I think a lot used to end up in car boot sales. And now everyone's going from fitted carpets to wood floors :) I...

Re: Woodworking Tools

The original blade is about ready for replacing. - a dinky socket set, which is great for odd jobs - a set of hook tools, which have been useful - a wooden Continental style jack plane, which I ha...

What do you mean sausage burger? If it's just sausage meat formed into a round, I take the skins off my favourite sausages and mush all together. If you have a willing child to do this, so much the better. I mostly use this approach for home made sausage rolls baked in bought puff pastry. Shop saus...

I'm sure Aldi or Lidl had similar snips recently, but as three individual items. The Continental Op wrote: ↑Sun Jul 25, 2021 2:54 pm Amazon Basics 3-Piece Aviation Snip Set - Left, Right and Straight Cut £10.21
Bit specialist but really handy for cutting thin sheet metal, I use similar for cutting chicken wire.

Re: Welding ... ... 'snot woodworking, but :-/
If I am having any issues with rods sticking, I pop em in a microwave for a few seconds, but I normally keep my box of rods under the range. Ha! Back in the days when cookers had warming drawers under the oven (and we had stand-alone cookers :) ), I was advised to store welding rods in there. Didn'...

Biggest help for me - and I'm no welder - was getting an auto-darkening helmet. Just being able to see the electrode made a huge difference. No more fiddling in the dark :) Also, cheap kits usually come with a hand-held mask, but the helmets leave your non-welding hand free. I've seen people support...

Never been offered it, but whenever I see it being made it seems to involve vast quantities of sugar - or is that just the Southern USA version?
