Re: Children Stabbed in Dublin
Last nights events were very distressing and depressing. But not unexpected. But what I found more distressing and depressing was not being in Arnotts. I heard the stuff was flying off the shelfs

Re: 60th anniversary of JFK’s assassination…
Bit of a side note. One of the pubs in the town I grew up in opened on the day Kennedy was assassinated. The news broke over here in the evening time and the owner closed the pub out of a mark of respect. I doubt that would happen today

Re: SuperValu wankers!
My local Super Valu has 6 or 7 self service check outs. There is always a member of staff on hand. But I've always got the impression that the staff aren't taking too much interest in what items customers are scanning, or more to the point, not scanning in

Re: What book are you currently reading?
The Crusades by Thomas Ashbridge. A very readable and balanced history of the Crusades. As its only a one volume account it doesn't go into as much detail as I'd like. But that's understandable as there is a lot to cover. But if you're looking for a good overview of what was for much of the time a v...

Had a look at the list of "celebrates". Now granted I'm not well up on these things but Farage is the only one I recognise. The rest seem even more Z list then normal

Re: What did you watch last night?
Something of a Sports evening. Firstly I watched Corofin v Ballina in the Semi Final of the Connacht Club Football Championship. (The least said about sh*t feast the better). Then it was Munster & The Stormers in watch was a really enjoyable old fashioned game of Rugby. Finally I subjected mysel...

According to the Indo he's already cracked the UK. Although they seem to be conveniently forgetting that he's actually yet to present a radio show https://www.independent.ie/entertainment/wogan-norton-tubridy-the-former-late-late-host-follows-a-well-trodden-path-of-irish-stars-to-crack-the-uk/a18938...

Re: Post what's on your mind
It's not that I don't like speaking in tongues, I'm quite okay at French, even German I understand and can hobble by in, and my Irish is pretty good, I just wouldn't kiss the Blarney stone because of all the other people who had been smooching it before me 😒🤢 Just speak loudly and slowly at them in...
Re: Weather
The red warning was probably merited for some Western Counties but in terms of Dublin it was largely much ado about nothing. Yes, it was a blustery morning with some strong gusts but nothing out of the ordinary. Met Eireann really do need to get their warning system changed. One of these days their ...

I was waiting on a bus this afternoon. There was about 4 or 5 people at the stop. The bus pulls up. We all start to get on when a women charges in front of everyone so she can be first on. A: where the hell was her manners & B: what was the god damn rush. It was the first stop and not a soul on ...

Re: "The Gone" new RTE series
Just started watching this on the Player last night - a strange one to be sure. Irish couple go missing in New Zealand. I'll wait until the end before passing judgement. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HD_k6aLcL9U Overall very watchable. Hopefully you enjoy it. But RTE calming it as an "Irish&...

Re: Hidden Assets - Latest Crime Drama on RTE on Sunday Nights
Just started to watch Season.2. this evening and it's still excellent fare with plenty of violent action if you're into that sort of thing. Angeline Ball is no longer in the cast but her replacement Nora-Jane Noone is a better fit for the role. Less evidence of the CAB officers swaggering around in...
