How about:

He had a chance to make a reasoned arguement against the trans BS but blew it by roaring and shouting.

Cover of Rammstein's Spieluhr by Tergo Lupi.
The lyrics are very sad anyway about a child buried alive because he was playing at being dead.

Re: Unreadable books - your top picks

I gave up on Tolkein's The Children of Húrin. I'll try again at some stage. It's first few pages are hard going and the story is a bit grim. I never attempted The Silmarillion but have heard it's hard going. Anyone read it? Here I am quoting myself. I kept re-reading the intro so as to get a good r...

I came across this a while back https://www.audaxireland.org/brevet-hiberniae/ Basically it's 128 locations in Ireland, 4 per county on the Island, where you cycle to and photograph your bike.when you get a full provence or all 128 you get a certificate. There are no restrictions on how far you need...

Re: Ryan Tubridy Show

I liked what Berties_Horse wrote. It would be awful if Tubridy came back to RTE. I couldn't listen to his 1 hour radio show. The first 20 minutes of his review of the paper was the worst. At least the second part had a guest so you only had to listen to him half the time and the money he was on. How...

Re: NCT Pass or fail

No bother to you Kadman after your white VW welding. My crappy 08 Corrolla made it through last week. I should go at it with a wire wheel underneath and a tin of hammerite or similar. I have a year to do that. Hardly using it now with work from home. I bought a 1992 classic from NI that is due the f...

Re: Leaking radiator

Closing the inlet will not slow the leak. The system pressure will come in on the outlet side too. The unibond could vey well solve the problem but a new rad is needed since there could be a heap of other locations within close to leaking. I'd say take the lid off the outlet valve (lockshield valve)...

I just looked now. I had those very same handles in that very colour in my old house in Clonmel.
I bought replacements in Bob Fitzgerald's in Clonmel.
We used the original screws so no drama with glass.

Re: Scraping the bottom of the barrel at the BBC

Much of comedy is based on contradiction. The newsreader is acting in a way that is unexpected for BBC newsreader so it's funny. Really good comedy goes well beyond contradiction. But comedy is very subjective. I've seen comments on youtube that disparage a piece that I thought was great. Each to th...

As insane as some of that stuff is…. And some of it is truly off the rocker, some of the topics aren’t all that insane. They need to intersperse the publication with true stuff. In that way the reader can agree with the common sence bit and might take on board some of the nonsence bit on the basis ...
