Re: Farewell to Obvious Desperate Breakfasts

The fact that one poster's sad and untimely death must be shouted from the rooftops underlines the cliquish atmosphere that many have criticized Boreds.ie for in the past. There is an inner circle of protected regulars that are pally with the mo...

Re: Your most disappointing gig?

The Jesus & Mary Chain in 2014. There were a lot of sound problems, especially with the guitar, so it was rather disappointing.

Similar thing happened when I saw John Cale a couple of years before that. He was getting frustrated himself and didn't bother to do an encore because of it.

An often overlooked album by them. Suppose it doesn't help that it was released just before DSOTM.

Also, cubism and abstract art was around by 1910 so it doesn't make sense as a comparison either.

Meh, just makes me think of people who complain about modern music and dismissing it just because they're nostalgic about the past.

Newly released albums you've been listening to

I've spent the last few days listening to the second album by Lump (Laura Marling & Mike Lindsay). A very good follow up to their debut and quickly becoming one of my favourites of the year so far.
