Re: Cameron makes $10 million from part time job.
He wanted to remain, no? Did he have any choice but to put it to the public vote? Iirc he said prior to the vote that if it went through then he couldn't / wouldn't stay on as PM. It was the idiot vote and dipsticks like Farage and Boris that were responsible for Brexit. Yes he wanted to remain, he...

Re: Labour Party
I see Alan Kelly accepted Ivana Bacik apology for attending the Merrion Hotel bash, very noble of him, surprised she could find him as he has gone into hiding of late. Leo must have apologised also seen that he has nothing to say on the matter. They have the cheek to call themselves an opposition pa...

Cameron makes $10 million from part time job.
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-58149765 I see the man that was responsible for Brexit doing okay for himself, $10 million dollars for 2 and half years of part-time work. And also tried to get the British taxpayer to invest in the sinking ship he represented, but failed. A slimeball of the highest order...

Re: Fine Gael leadership
Pascal comes across as a more astute and attention to detail type of man, always well prepared but if you take him off script he's not very good at thinking on his feet, I don't think he would be tough enough for all the carry on behind the scenes. but who knows, he could be as sneaky as any of them...

Re: Fine Gael leadership
I would have thought that Coveny would be the natural successor to the Golden Boy, but with all this, how dare anyone question me over giving my pal Zappone a nice little number courtesy of the taxpayer, and kicking up a fuss over retaining his state car and driver last year, he is starting to show ...

Re: Fine Gael leadership
Interesting chat on Newstalk this morning re FG. Stating the obvious that all is not well with Leo's leadership and raising the question of the next leader. All the panelists seemed to think that Leo, Paschal Donohoe and Simon Coveny were burnishing their CVs for a big European job. If none of the ...

Re: Property Market chat thread
So you go to the property beforehand then there is a designated day for an online bid afterward ? How does the limit on how much you can bid work ? Say I'm only approved for 300k but I get trigger happy on the day and bid 400k which I dont have Yes, you have a designated day and time, say Monday bi...

Re: Property Market chat thread
You mean buy a house online without a physical viewing ? I would never do it although I was talking to an auctioneer during the week and he said of the 10 houses that went sale agreed via virtual viewings due to covid only 2 pulled out. So 8/10 completed the sale and sold. He was expecting the drop...

Anyone see or hear Alan Kelly of late, surprisingly very quiet on the whole Zappone gig and Merrion hotel bash, not like him to quiet on something like this. maybe he is on his holidays and doesn't want to be disturbed

Re: Property Market chat thread
What are people's thoughts about buying a house online, I bought one about two years ago a very simple and transparent process on the day, no hanging around for the phone to ring saying someone is after putting another 5k on the house you were interested in.

Re: So what are we as a society going to do with the aftermath of covid?
Pay more tax for a start, maybe not this budget, but you can be sure of it in the one after. Inflation rising, fuel and energy prices skyrocketing, a lot of businesses closing, and job losses. Have we learned anything? not likely back to trollies full of people in hospitals, years of backlogs to see...

Re: Zappone made 'Special Envoy for Freedom of Expression'.
So Martin looks pathetic coming out of this, Coveney has been lowered to the same standard as the rest of them, and Leo is just solidifying himself as the biggest charalatan since Bertie. Was it worth it for Zappone to not have to pay flights to Ireland? You can add Tick Toc Simon to that list also...

Re: Poor Micky D getting to much homework.
I believe he & his team do read the documents. The other people who ran for president would be expected to do the work & go over it with their legal staff who would advise 9 pieces of legislation in one day (just before the holidays) is more than other presidents have had to deal with. It s...

Re: Poor Micky D getting to much homework.
I'm astonished at the tone of the discourse here... He was given 9 pieces of legislation in one day... one day!!! It's not throwing a hissy fit, he's not avoiding work, or unable for it. He's clearly highlighting a serious issue at a governmental level, and being very diplomatic about it. It's only...

Re: Cork publican wants the pandemic to continue for another decade
I'd agree with the above, but this guy was no small fry: It just goes to show what money is being throwing at them to keep them quite. How many times was the like of that Panti Bliss given interviews to the media complaining about his business being destroyed because the are not able to open. As so...
