Re: Will this place take over from Boards?
A quick look at the sport category,if I'm reading it right, tells me the latest update for all sport is 4th Feb. The appetite just isn't here for sports chat which is a shame. I tried in the beginning for a liverpool tread but there wasn't much happening..

Re: Will this place take over from Boards?
Boards.ie has taken away viewing access to non members to the footie tread. This maybe an opportunity to create a tread that has good varying opinions, debate etc. This might drive traffic towards gubu.ie..footie is on all the time. Always current and new incidents to discuss.

TicketMaster.ie
Does anybody else find the layout of Ticketmaster.ie not very user friendly ? If you know who/or what event your looking for its grand. But if you want to browse to see what's on or coming up it is impossible with the scrolling through endless pages of up coming dates. There must be an option that y...

Re: Argentina vs Brazil abandoned
Not sure if this would belong in the sports forum or the covid forum. It seems there were four premierleague players playing in the match. Brazil is on England's red list, and England is on Brazil's red list in terms of covid travel. Apparently these four players provided false information to healt...

Re: Portugal Ireland
Who do you want to replace Kenny with? Who is going to pay off his contract? How would the FAI pay for another manager on top of that? Who would take the job? Facts are, this is a young team of limited talent with a really bad domestic scene and an atrocious grassroots level coaching network, relia...

What can you say after that? 112th in the world and we get a last minute draw. Brutal stuff
Surely all the media defenders for the saviour of Irish football can call it for what it is now. 1 win in 15. Just not acceptable.

I dunno. Absolutely fantastic music in the 70s / 80s but sometimes I think these things are better left alone. I'd imagine they are all agood 70+ at this stage

1 nil up in the 89th min away from home in a crucial game and it's the ref that needs to answer questions and not the manager

Hi 5s all round from the media and journalists this morning. Massive progress under Kenny bla bla bla
6 points from the next 2 games is what is required before people get carried away with themselves
Ireland still have 0 points on the board but somehow that doesn't matter anymore

Re: Portugal Ireland
Wasn't the ref that beat Ireland last night, it was allowing crosses into the box and letting one of the best scorers of headed goals to ever play the game to get on to the end of them. It was tired legs and poor squad depth. So what if the ref was smiling and laughing with the player who had just ...

Re: LOI TV: the new way to watch Irish football
With RTE dropping Soccer Republic and Irish broadcasters now largely boycotting Irish football, LOI TV is the new way for fans to see the domestic game. I wonder if mods would agree it would be a good idea to sticky this link to level the playing field: https://www.loitv.ie/en-int/page/home (Games ...

Fully agree. Their entitlement knows no bounds. A better domestic league doesn't automatically make the senior international side better. A quick look at the fifa rankings shows we are above both Scotland and Greece, who both have good domestic leagues and have had good representation over the year...

Re: Liverpool Club Thread v1
I thought Matip did very well against Lukaku, they really seemed to favour him against VVD for Lukaku to press. He basically took no notice of Lukaku and I'm really getting to love the guy :D And Elliott has most attempted passes and most completed passes which is a fair achievement for an 18yo pla...

Poor match on Saturday. Didn't think we did enough to win
I thought van Dijk was best on the day for us. Elliott did well too. I thought klopp could have changed it earlier than he did

...what are you certain about...but everyone else disagrees with you? 1. David Seaman was vastly overrated and deserves to be remembered as a keeper who made errors in the most important games. He gave Koeman the whole goal to kick into in Rotterdam '93, his flapping after Nayim lobbed him from a m...
