Storm Ciaran 1st-2nd November, heavy rainfall - flooding very likely
Very heavy rainfall is forecast for southern counties, which is very likely to cause flooding due to already saturated ground. Hopefully this won't be as bad as forecast, the ground is saturated enough as it is with the recent rainfall. Currently looks weaker on ECM, though GFS is showing a lot of r...

Later Wednesday and on Thursday, Storm Ciaran will bring fa...
Re: Weather
There looks to be a low pressure area moving over us around the 2nd of November - let's hope this doesn't verify:
Re: Weather
I'm getting very fed up with the rain now - it's been relentless since early July bar the early September dry spell. Roads seem to be flooded everywhere, rivers high and fields waterlogged.
Re: Weather
I'm surprised it's only yellow for Cork given the recent flooding.

Re: Weather
A very nice day today here, especially after yesterday's deluges.
Re: Weather
I woke up this morning to see a strange yellow orb in the sky. Would anyone know what it is I think they call it the 'son' or something like that, I can't remember though. In all seriousness though, another decent day, in fact it felt pretty warm. Probably the last good day of the month as the rain...
Re: Weather
Looks like tomorrow will be the last half-decent day before rain returns for the most of the rest of the week, with Wednesday in particular looking pretty wet:
Re: Weather
Finally, a decent day here. The first day it hasn't rained in who knows how long. I've been busy all day mowing lawns so haven't checked any charts or anything.
Re: Weather
Dunsany is at 154.7mm rainfall this month so far, which is around 250% of the LTA of 61.4. Many other stations are not doing much better either. This July is somehow managing to beat the terrible July of 2020. Even if August had a 3-week heatwave, which it most likely won't, I'd still only rank this...
Re: Weather
Another dreadful, damp day here with that depressing low-hanging cloud. While I normally like the long daylight hours, it's painful with this type of weather as it just means you have to look out at that dreadful low-hanging cloudy sky all evening. And it's a shame as the long daylight hours are jus...
Re: Weather
A dreary, damp evening here. A lot of rain to come over the weekend, especially in the northern half of the country from looking at the charts. ECMWF and GFS charts are both showing yet another washout for next weekend, fingers crossed these will change over the next few days. This July will definit...
Re: Weather
Saturday looks to be another washout, with temperatures looking to be around 13 degrees or so. Looking at the ECMWF, a lot of areas could see around 30mm of rainfall between now and Sunday. https://images.meteociel.fr/im/92/27030/ecmwfuk_25_84upf9.png July has been the wettest month of 2023 so far i...
