No they are light plastic bit like silicone? you get them in pkts of 2 or 4 and supposed to get 100 'goes' out of each but practically cleaning them are a bother so chucked after a few goes. I am looking out for an auld sandwich maker. Not given into airfryer yet tho have a halogen oven.

Re: Car Tyres
Wow 50K on original tyres! things have improved since my 'car mechanics course' way back when.... I thought life of a tyre was c 20 k and know well how rubber degrades in other things. I was in plaster for several months 25 yrs ago and car off the road in north facing driveway and tyres deteriorated...

Re: Car Tyres
Thks for feedback. Just see that nearest tyre place also does service and pre NCT check so will probably go with there rather than back to main dealer I have used in past 7 yrs. I like to keep record of services etc of any car but does not seem so important these days. NCT is due on March 3rd and ne...

Car Tyres
I am due NCT and a car service planned in advance of same. I suspect I need new tyres! Many years since bought any. Should I leave it to garage to sort at time of service or get one of the dedicated tyre fitters to do same?

I keep a selection of DVD films and have lent them along with a mini DVD player to people in hospital. My present laptop has no dvd driver but I got a plug in to attach. I have a good DVD player and a record player but sadly they are stashed away and I wonder if I can remember how to work the DVD on...

I suspect regulations that need to be complied with are to do with amount of recycling material collected and not the end use of it.

Re: Children Stabbed in Dublin
I was in the O'Connell Street area yesterday between 12 and 3 pm. I was on 3 trams and a bus in that time. I rarely go into town or that area of the city and was on the alert for any 'gurriers'. ... on the contrary, it seemed most other people were young and foreign with a sprinkling of 'auld wans' ...

I had to live without a kitchen recently for a few weeks. I made great use out of 'toastie pockets'.... bags that you put your sambo in and then into a regular toaster, very nice!

Re: Vaccine megathread
Lot of stuff to wade thru at the moment. I have had earlier jabs as needed to be able to travel frequently during covid. But now need to pause and think it out. Maybe the excess deaths are to do with survivors of covid that left its mark? and not due to vaccine? but I think one country with 'good' s...
