I'm trying to broaden my range of experience and continental bidets are surely posh, no?

Re: Bidets 🍑
I would love a bidet or a bum gun. Think about it - using dry toilet paper to smear one's own excretions around the evacuation zone. 🤢 No bars of soap allowed and a stack of face cloths would allow each person to dry themselves without sharing a towel. These would be boil washed. The stack of one u...

Ugh I've just also thought about the soap in the video. Fine if people lather their hand but what if they use the soap directly

I think he is traveling, if I recall.
That video was useful Quodec. Bidets are more complicated to use than I had suspected. I still think someone confusing the towel and the towel is a distinct possibility. Which could lead to a serious distrust of all towels.

Re: Bidets 🍑
I have also never used a bidet and the very thoughts of them make me feel a little queasy. Are they used instead of wiping I wonder? Wikihow tells me one can wipe and bidet, or simply bidet. 😯 Yes, I've been imagining people doing the crab walk from toilet to bidet with an unwiped 🍑. All rather une...

Bidets 🍑
I have travelled a lot and coped with many toileting arrangements including happily using the Indian water cleaning method which deploys jugs of water or a hose on the 🍑 This is an embarrassing announcement but . ..I have never used a bidet. Re: Interesting Archaeological Artefacts
Graham Hancock at least will be pleased 🙂 though I imagine most archaeologists will strongly resist this theory. And rightly so. The burden of proof is heavy. One of the main reasons I would love to time travel to the future would be to learn what archaeologists and paleontologists will learn over t...

Re: Shane MacGowan (1957 - 2023)
Sad news. May he rest in peace.
I sat beside him once on some hay bales at a festival and he had a bottle of spirits in each hand. He had a tough punk constitution. I know someone who learned English only by listening to his music. He was appreciated by many.

Yes I suppose so. I see your point.
I'm just hating to watch the mob when they catch a scent.
Anyways, it'll be over soon.

Re: Public disorder, riots, looting etc
This is going to seem weird...but I don't want to see that man piled on, as is happening. I think he had a complete brain fart moment and said something extremely volatile. He immediately retracted. I know, I know, it was a bad thing to say, crazy even. But I hate to think of how his life will be ru...

Re: Israel and Palestine
I don't agree. However cross a different even objectionable opinion makes one - and I'm as guilty of that as the next, especially as I feel very strongly, even traumatised, in this case about the violence against women meted out by Hamas - if the opinion holder is not being provocatively mean or abu...

Re: Israel and Palestine
The irony is Yahya had a brain tumour while in Israeli jail and he was operated on and his life was saved by Israeli surgeons. He then went on years later to lead a terrorist organisation called Hamas which went on the mass slaughter and gang rape rampage in Israeli kibbutzes and a youth festival, r...

Re: Public disorder, riots, looting etc
Years ago a friend of mine from a poorer part of Eastern Europe spent some time here and told me having observed the place (he has a degree in philosophy) that he thinks Ireland is the laboratory where the progressive globalists (eg the politicos in the EU institutions) trial their ideas. I thought ...

We are starting to learn about the impact of Hamas captivity on the children and it's utterly heartbreaking. Thomas Hand, father of 9-year-old Emily, says the little girl thought she had been held hostage for a year and now cries herself to sleep. “The most shocking, disturbing part of meeting her ...

41 workers in India have been freed after 17 days trapped inside a tunnel. Thank goodness. What a scary time for them. It must have also been horrible being taken out by the rescue pipe. Hamas declared two men spies without trial, publicly shot them by firing squad, strung them up from an electricity pylon and then dismembered their bodies before putting them into a skip only a few days ago in the West Bank. Meanwhile a huge crowd looked on in the public square, participated in abus...

I agree. Apparently that kind of attitude is far right though. So it would be far right opinion backing far right police against the far right racist looters. Nobody else gets a look in.

By the way the fellas with the machete are not foreign. There's a law and order issue well embedded in this country already. This machete business though, such a crazy dreadful weapon. Apparently the man slashed is in his thirties and is in hospital. He lost a fair bit of blood. Horrible thing to ha...
