Re: Disposable AA batteries - comparison
I detest batteries. The amount of them now ending up in landfill due to people smoking vapes (poisoning themselves and the planet) must be truly astonishing.

Re: IMMIGRATION OUT OF CONTROL
Come the next downturn and it could be along a lot quicker than we think, we will quickly see the emperor has no clothes. We simply can't afford the largesse. Sinn fein will romp home in next election, make a royal fook up of things if they even try and implement some of their loony policies and th...

Re: You know you're a true peasant when ...
I'm a true peasant because I raised my family with no indoor facilities. We had a compost toilet in the garden. Yes, we pooped outside, covered the poop in various forms of organic matter and composted it. It really makes fantastic compost. No condoms were harmed in the making of it. I'm sure I'd c...

Re: Annoyances & Irritations
Its late October almost November and a Bluebottle just flew in to my kitchen The last few days in my workshop, a couple of large, slow moving flys kept landing on my head and constantly buzzing into my face. It was strange, and as if they were trying to get my attention or communicate something to ...

There does seem to be an underlying invitation on this thread for contributors to be seen to take sides in this conflict. The harm that humans can inflict on each other in the name of one particular cause or another when so many innocent lives are shattered by this catastrophe is extremely saddening.

Awh CR . . they're adorable aren't they. We have brother and sister cats which my kids named Harry (ginger Tom) and Megan (tortoiseshell colours). I'll suggest 'Kit' for your blue-cream kitten and 'Kat' for your tortoiseshell one, so a little nod to my favourite chocolate - covered wafer enjoyed wit...

So Palani, it turns out, had over 350k and its a 'mystery'. He also went to the mosque to pray after a murder. Yet Detective Garda Jordan told the court they are satisfied that he was 'not radicalised'. Yousef Palani was six years old when he moved to Ireland from Iraq with his family in 2006. A fu...

It makes for great fertiliser ... though maybe not if it's full of rubbers. :? Begs the question, where do they all end up ? They're hardly biodegradable . . Probably landfill. They'll be archeology students in a couple of thousand years time digging them up and extracting the DNA, while on the hun...

some parts of my research into tackling this,I did come upon a study by an Irish student that suggested willow would kill roots of it too To best of our knowledge this particular patch has grown uncontested since pre-WW2, as the remnants of a flower pot were dumped on a dungheap (and was actively p...

You should have taken a picture of them, then asked them if anyone knew what the hell they were and how they ended up in the septic tank with a very confused face. Mmm . . Had the septic tank emptied earlier in the year, walked over to the two lads doing the work who were in hysterics laughing at the amount of used, tied condoms that had swollen-up like little balloons and were floating along the top of my tank. There seemed to be hundreds of em, the lads were joking ...

I suppose this fits best here also. A small stand or bench for the Midi Lathe. Made from some offcuts and 4 short ends of the boards I used for the main bench behind it.
