Wondering if there might be some issue with this e.g.

Nothing in listed in 'recent' from 11:59 to 1:53. Yet there were lots of posts in that time span [ e.g. : calahonda posted in AOB at 12:51 and I posted in info & expertise at 1:26 ( cringe at 'expertise' BTW - anyone else ? ) ]

So, the 'recent posts' that are displayed for an account depends on the Gubu browsing history of that account ?
Different accounts will not necessarily see the same content in 'recent posts' ?

Yes. It shows the same for all not logged in users, but if you're logged in it should only show you the most recent posts that you have not read. That will clearly differ from user to user.

The Recent Topics is a great addition - I feel this is necessary for a general interest forum in order to generate "buzz".

It was 6kb out of the box. I guess it is planning for thousands of members uploading avatars, not a problem we have yet.

Yeah I surprised myself that I managed to resize it down to 6kb!

The admin having to approve a new account was a real momentum killer. A really stupid decision to be honest. Then it quickly became apparent it was going to be a place for conspiracy theorists, cranks, weirdos and losers to spout their bile as they could no longer do so on Boards.

It was a bad idea, poorly executed.

You're under no obligation to post here, clearly struggling with the concept of a laissez faire approach. Cast away the bubble wrap and grow a thicker skin, whinging and moaning about matters beyond your grasp is embarrassing. Furthermore, you have no protection from the consequences of your ignorance.
