Thanks for setting this up. Definitely a big opportunity to fill the gap caused by Boards latest move to drive away its users in the last week. Hope this works out as an alternative if nothing else.

Two suggestions:

- Move the "user panel" beside posts to the left rather than the right
- Option to view more posts per page (I used to use 40 on Boards)

Have set the default posts per page to 25, which hopefully will improve readability. Working on options for users to customise. Looked into the moving panel to left, and currently concerned it will cause more problems than it solves.

Thanks a million for setting this up. I was a frequent lurker on boards though not a frequent poster- couldnt believe how badly wrong they got it with the new site. So not user-friendly. Looking forward to getting established here.

Decided on a new name for a fresh start!

Can I suggest not having as many catergories ,especially sub categories as boards, their really isnt any need for most , like regional could easily be split to provinces munster ,leinster and the other ones* less subcategories would lead to more interaction and talk i would think and look way better than scrolling down through mindless no of heading
sport could be generalised i can slighty understand soccer being subcategorised as it would overly dominate a whole category
gaming no need for any splits etc

Yes, we're hoping to be a slimmed down version! It's a bit chicken and egg at the minute, as new posters with different interests join. Ideally we'd like to see any and all threads that don't fit in the existing categories posted in Any Other Business, then we can see whats popular and whats not and create dedicated forums where required.

Must say I'm enjoying this place so far. Sort of like finding yourself a new local and discovering the pint is pretty good.

Thank you !!!!

There’s been a need for a message board site not operated by a cycling obsessed Capt Mainwaring wannabe - and mods who think Copernicus was wrong and the Earth revolves around them!!!

Looking forward to having the craic and some cut and thrust debate without being told how to think!!!
