Honeysuckle faded at the end. Ground was probably too heavy going for her.

maybe "they didn't 'go fast enough' " for the mare :D

soft ground possibly didn't help much either i doubt :(

chance some early (only? - perhaps :) ) selections for tomorrow

Wolverhampton

4.20

Will go each way on AMAZING AMAYA 16/1 NAp here

Derek Shaw's 7-y-o mare can go well after an absence. Has the 7 box here over the minimum trip, and doubt it will inconvenience her here, as looks as if most of them like to go fast early. She can go well over this course and distance from a hold-up ride, and will do me here at a very tasty looking price. At them odds, there be more positivos than negatives for me

RED WALLS 5/1 drawn in stall three, is of some interest here also. Is one who likes to follow the leader/s (or lead himself, even), so the race may pan out to suit. Can win or come nowhere i feel, so will go WIN only on the Lisa Williamson 4-y-o, but 5/1 a bit short as would be wanting 10s or bigger

6.20

he don't have much to beat, but might try very short odds in-running lay on 13/8 fav SHABS. Came up short lto at Newcastle, and I'm guessing this slightly further than 1 mile trip, will be too far. Only guessing on that score though.

good luck

6.20 Wolves

had another look at that race and the pretty rubbish LAOCH GACH LA 40/1 might have slim each way claims here. Has been pretty rubbish overall, but wasn't too far back over C & D lto, tho it does look like the extended mile might be a bit stiff for Mrs Barclay's charge, her 3-y-o might be worth an each way bet for coppers

2.10 Musselburgh

Smart Lass goes well at the course & might be worth a small win bet at 5/1. Is unlikely to be far away here anyhow.

hard to make a case for Socialist Agenda 9/2, unless the ground goes soft (good to soft atm)

Al Zaraqaan 11/10 has won two of his four hurdles' races, but looks very short at 11/10. Both wins came on ground with zero mention of soft in it. Might be even better with cut in ground, but not for me, but not putting anyone off neither

Nietzsche has been backed into 9/2 from 15/2 or so. Hasn't won a hurdles' race in 4 years, and his being a bit short is enough to put me off.

pick here is a far from obvious one. pen landed on ANTEY 40/1. Will go each way on this one in hope that Mrs Russell's 9-y-o can recapture some of his Irish form from years back, in what'll be just his 3rd go for his latest handler. Just two places, but is interesting enough at the prices. Often likes to be up with the pace, and Musselburgh seems a frontrunners' track

good luck

tried to solve 2.55 Lingfield

too hard, so almost no bet there - but have tried another angle

looks like a few of these like to get on with it, and horses can win from off the pace here

so, with that in mind, i have opted for GIVE ME A CUDDLE 4/1 each way, as can run from off pace

good luck

7.50 Southwell

#Foursome is a good price if ya fancy him. Came a good third lto at the course - (on first run for new trainer) - over 2fs shorter. Not sure she'll stay trip tho. Mebbe small win here.

#On flipside, and one what is a lot shorter than i thought she would be, is Valley Of Flowers . Can go well at the course, but has a poor draw and a very poor win ratio - perhaps one for 3/4 place-lays??

Easy Equation may run a good race, and maybe not, but, either way I feel he comes up short. Would be a very unlikely winner imo.

Querqus Robus is only three and is stepping up markedly in trip on first run for new trainer. Staying has to be a question mark. Must keep watching brief only. Might be worth a bet at 11 or 12 to one, but looks très short here at a best price 9/1. Can't rule him out all the same, but will leave out for today.

Mount Olympus is capable of winning a race. Is out of form, and I don't see him winning today.

#Oh So Chic has little AW form, but the 5-y-o mare is well drawn in one. Not a great price atc, but worth a lil each way perhaps.

difficult to see Artemis Sky do much here.

# X Heatherdown Hero has solid each way claims, but is a long way from a decent each way price. Will leave out of calculations for today anyroad

Kitten's Dream does well in 7 runner races, and won't have enough here i feel

# X Would rather be against Prince Abu at the prices

g'luck

Verdict - Will go for two each way picks here:

FOURSOME 20/1 ew
OH SO CHIC 10/1 ew

and a lay pick

Valley Of Flowers - laid for four places at a little above evens.

chance one for tomorrow

Thu 8th Dec

Chelmsford

4.30

RED EVELYN is tackling 10fs for the first time in her career. She is previously a winner over a mile on a similar surface in Lingfield's. She came a respectable 5th lto at Wolves over the extended mile, and seemed to be staying on at the end there. Has seen support the last twice, and Stephanie Germany (who claims 7lbs) seems a decent amateur prospect. Paper has Red Evelyn as a 7/1 shot, and if a similar price is available come the time the market opens, then this punter feels that whatever concerns she may have as regards the track/staying the trip, are more than allayed by that tissue price.

Worth an each way bet at 6s or bigger, or win only if shorter. Looks more of a 10/3 shot to me, as competition don't appear up to much. Richard Hughes' Villalobos is the most obvious one here, having improved lto when coming second over the same trip at Lingfield, but the #one selection will do me.....

.....unless....

If I was having a 2nd bet here, i'd go with Engrave [9/2 in paper] here. A multiple course and distance winner, won a similar race (one grade higher) around this time last year over C&D, has a good jockey up top in Simon Walker, and shouldn't mind the big weight. Doesn't appear to have the greatest of draws tho, being berthed in stall 8, for one who goes well from close to the pace.

#depending on prices, I might back both ENGRAVE and RED EVELYN each way for this Class6 Amateur Jockeys' Handicap

good luck :)

8.00 Kempton

IMPERIUM is very skinny fav here @ 7/2. Is well drawn in stall one, and the 6-y-o has a number of C & D wins to his name (including some round this time of the year)

I aint seeing it tho meself. All his wins over course and distance have come in lesser graded races, mostly ran in slow/slowish times, and from fields consisting of single digit runners.

On the 'negative' side - from lay perspective - it'll be his second run after wind surgery (horses often go well on the second outing after this operation)

Have chanced 4 place lay at 4/5 approx more in expectation than hope

Tomorrow Friday 9 Dec

no strong fancies. just a few hopeful ones for small #each way stakes

Wolverhampton

12,15 Giselles Izzy 10/3 :(

12,50 Storm Master 13/8 :(

2,30 Amaysmont 3/1 :(

4.40 Nellie French 22/1

Southwell

5.45 Alnwick Castle 7/1 :( (interesting upped significantly in trip and after >1yr's absence - worth watching at least, with eye on 4nxt time out anyroad)

6.45 Ermin Street 33/1

four of these :( :( :( :( cos me expected those horses to each be at least twice their current prices, when this aft i give them races a look. that's how it goes too, sometimes 8-) :?
#think I'll just go win only on those four, and perhaps do a €1 ew accum + ew on a 10c lucky 63

will possibly go win only on outsider Gonzaga Street in 12,50 Wolves also. has a penchant for finishing seventh for some reason, but, strangely enough, he might be due a win. looks a middling (if hardly a jumping off the page one) price of 28/1

In 6.45 Southwell Beltane is interesting for informative purposes. Horse hasn't won since last year and is dropping down weights, but is strangely upped in trip. not sure 1 mile will suit, but is interesting nonetheless. no bet on this one - yet anyway

and in 5.15 Southwell am strangely drawn to Jeans Maite for some reason. hard to fancy from box 10 all the same. no bet on this one either

good luck, and good luck Brazil, Morocco, The Argies & The Limeys too, in ye foosball this weekend

Racecard says going is 'Good' which should suit the pick here. INDEFATIGABLE 12/1 don't always look the most reliable, and the almost bang on 3 mile trip may stretch Paul Webber's mare, but she does go very well at the course. While the trip is a worry, I still think she's got a decent squeak here, and does look overpriced an' all

will go each way on the 9-y-o and won't be too disappointed if she's out/looks out of contention, as they approach the last couple o' obstacles

early pick for tomorrow Sat 10 Dec.

Wolverhampton

4.50

Wide open this Class4 6f Sprint, where 'the paper' has lto CD winner Abbey Heights (2) as the provisional 11/4 fav. Daniel Kubler's 4-y-o won by making all that day from stall 8, and is even better berthed tomorrow in stall 2.

has live claims tbs, but am looking for summit at a bigger price here; plus I feel a frontrunner is vulnerable here in this quality looking Class4.

Rattling (3), at about 5/1 can go well over track and trip, but i feel she comes up short here at this level. Jockey wouldn't be the best neither.

Pocket The Profit (4) is, like the 2 abovementioned horses, well drawn being in stall 4, but carries topweight and could be vulnerable from his 84 rating. Like Rattling, Pocket The Profit is only a 3-y-o, and there could be more to come. Doesn't interest me insofar as one who looks likely, and his predicted price of 10/3 looks very skimpy anyroad.

Amber Dew (5) looks a decent price at 10/1 approx, and came a good 2nd lto in a race a grade higher (when very well supported an' all). Don't like backing too many from the Dixon stable, as ya wouldn't know what they'd be up to. A lively looking one at prices tho, all the same. Same trainer also has the lto Class5 CD winning Ahlawi (8) ~8/1, going as well. Likes the surface, and tough to rule out, but will leave Ahlawi off as well here.

Intervention (1) is a multiple CD winner, but don't appeal at 13/2. Think this is just a grade too high for the Mick Appleby gelding. Plenty of pace on, and the horse is very well drawn in box 1 to sit just off the pace. Easy enough to make a case for him if ya likes, but I aint seeing it happen for Intervention tomorrow

Pen landed on the lightly raced VESPASIAN (6). Is trained by Simon Crisford, and this 3-y-o son of Acclamation has shown a liking for the Tapeta surface when coming 2nd at Southwell and then following that up with a win at Newcastle - in the early part of this year. Hasn't raced since April, and last two runs aint been great, but one of those was in a Class2 on the turf at Newmarket, and the other on the Polytrack at Lingfield.

Likes to lead, which aint great, as he's middle drawn in stall 6, and there are others what like to make the running also.

has enough ?s , but i am happy enough to go win only on VESPASIAN if he's 9/2 or bigger this evening, as is lightly raced and could have more to offer. Not one for each way accums i reckon, but will hope he's able to get his noggin in front where it counts tomorrow

good luck :)
