INTERNATIONAL RUGBY AUTUMN SERIES

#1

Post by Del.Monte »

Really looking forward to this after a famine of interesting international rugby - especially the return of the All Blacks who have it all to prove in Dublin after their 16 - 9 defeat here in November 2018.

The All Blacks ran riot in Washington DC last Saturday with the final scoreline 104 - 14, but they face a sterner challenge this Saturday against Wales followed by Italy, and then Ireland on November 13th, finishing in Paris on the 20th November. I'm expecting and hoping for a clean sweep.

Amazon Prime subscribers appear to be able to access these games at no extra charge.

Alas poor Wales....Lol.

Beauden Barrett, only the 11th All Black to win 100 caps for his country, and man of the match for the umteenth time, piled misery upon on the hapless Welsh from beginning to end this afternoon. Enjoy the highlights. Ireland's turn soon.

Five International games in one day is a new record for me - combination of RTE for the Ireland/Japan game and Amazon Prime for the other four. Started at 1pm and just finished up at 10pm. A couple of exciting tussles - Wales v South Africa and France v Argentina - the latter spoilt somewhat by excessive use of the TMO.

Ireland v Japan and England v Tonga were too one-sided to be of much interest and the stand out game was Italy's defiant fight against the All Blacks before finally being blown away in the last quarter. It took a weakened All Blacks side twenty seven minutes to get points on the board - here's the highlights.

And just the one game today with Scotland scraping a win against Australia. Scotland are getting like the English team for me - easy to dislike.

Should be some game but I cant see Ireland turning them over. If we keep it to a 10 point difference I'd be happy enough!!

The match of the coming weekend will be in Paris when the All Blacks will hopefully bounce back after the debacle against Ireland. The French have only won one game from their last 15 encounters against the All Blacks but are going well at the moment and if Beauden Barrett is ruled out due to his HIA from the Irish game...

Richie Mo'unga replaces Beauden Barrett for the game against France tomorrow night which gives the home side an increased chance of a win but my money is already invested in the ABs by more than five points.

England run out deserved winners against South Africa 27 - 26 (3 tries to 1) in a very hard fought battle where the power of the Boks nearly won the day.
