Not sure on that one to be honest. When I bought the car I promised the owner that I would do the resto thread over there.
And there is a lot more interaction on the thread there for the classic vw than would be here. And its way too pic heavy and labour intensive to do both forums with the same thread.

I'll think on it, maybe with the major resto changes, i'll see.

Current state of play on the variant is that I am replacing front sections of the car due to rust. Some panels I can buy, most i have to make.

Here you can see the rusty front nosecone, and the new replacement panel. I could have repaired the existing rusty panel, buts quicker for a new panel to be inserted.
I say new, but its from 70's New Old Stock, so its 50 years old genuine german metal. New panels manufactured today would only last 10 years if you were luckt, and the fit would be atrocious.
