It would be laughable if it were not so pathetic - a TD threatens to resign because his local bypass is left out of the new National Development Plan. Pity some of the useless East Cork TDs didn't feel as strongly when the Midleton/Youghal railway line was left out of the 1970s Cork Land Use and Transportation Study. This oversight condemned the route to oblivion simply because it fel just outside the designated area of the study. However, I'm sure that the new greenway will take a lot of the vehicular traffic away from Killeagh and Castlemartyr and then the bypasses will no longer be required.

Anyway, Micheál Martin says not to worry as just because a road isn't in 'the plan' shure it can be added in - a bypass for everybody in the audience to go with their parish pump.
