A lizard a day keeps the phobics away.

Twin green lizards, from a couple of days ago, when the sun came out and stayed out long enough for all of us to risk frollicking in the herb garden.

My version of the Loch Ness Monster. I've caught only occasional glimpses of this fellow up to now, barely enough to be sure that I'd seen something in the pond, without really knowing what. :?

A marbled newt, up from the depths to investigate a moth immobilised on the surface.

Wow, those lizards! I would love to see them.

The flowers are the things that are keeping me sane right now. The first photo is what I see outside my kitchen window. It's a gorgeous jungle. Then my walk. Then the natural conclusion of everything.

I wasn't going to show yiz the little wren who spent the night in the kitchen because of my lack of use of Windolene, but judge away friends, by getting her out I've done my day's good deed

My phone camera did the colour job on the grass. I didn't edit. I think the brilliant orange of the butterfly bamboozled the sensors. The silver washed fritillary butterfly does look this orange.

There was a drunk bee further along. This is the colour of grass.

On my walk in the woods last Saturday, I had to skirt arount a pair of slugs fornicating in full public view. :o Was tempted to take a photo, but decided it'd probably be best not to have an XXX image as the last pic on my camera before I fell off the very adjacent cliff edge.

Instead, I waited till later to take some photos of fauna,

flora,

and fishies.

ImageCan somebody id these 6" diameter flat type mushrooms which have suddenly appeared in the garden where the chickens root about. They look like pancakes , and I was wondering are they edible, or will I end up more psychotic than i am now :? :D

It's the stalk you need to show us - that's where all the "deadly or not" info is stored. The root too, if possible ;)

(Not that I'll be able to help - not since the mobile library drove off with my favourite identify-a-mushroom book and never came back. )

I don't know what your Mushrooms are. The elder son would know if he saw gills and stem. He has had a nice haul today of chanterelles and hedgehog mushrooms from the forest. We just had the hedgehog mushrooms on toast for a snack. Very nice, great texture. They are I'm told mycorrhizal in that they grow in association with trees. You can see the spikes of the hedgehog mushrooms here

Meet Francis, our pine marten. He may look like a cutie but he spent half of last night and most of this morning testing our windows to see if he can get in, and we also suspect he has made off with a kitten who used to visit. Cuteness can be deceptive.

Pine marten would wreak havoc if you have chickens.

Vicious, destructive buggers. I remember hearing a report on radio a couple of years ago, of one who absolutely destroyed a woman's car, presumably chasing a mouse or rat or something. They take some stopping when they get going.
