So put you favourite programs in here. The one where you don't feel more dumb than ever after listening.
The Arts Show at 7pm on rte radio 1 is good most of the time.
Lyric FM is good for classical music.
Unfortunately there is s no really good pop radio station to be found here or other side of the Irish sea.

GOOD Long wave / FM / AM RADIO
Re: GOOD Long wave / FM / AM RADIO
I must confess to secretly enjoying listening to John Creedon on Radio 1 in the evening.....
Re: GOOD Long wave / FM / AM RADIO
John Creedon to me is a very talented presenter. When he's talking / interviewing people, he comes across as very genuine in his questions and can converse with people naturally. Enjoy his TV programs when they are on too. Makes D'Arcy, Tubs and Duffy look like amatures / clowns.
I also like Ronan Collins. Don't always like his music but seems to be another no bullshit presenter who does a good professional job on the radio.

I like Lyric FM around Christmas time. Always have good Christmas musical scores and carols.

Energy (Power) AM on 1395 kh MW on weekends around Dublin. It plays oldies - often the lesser played ones.

If cheesy pop from the 1960s and 1970s is your thing, you could listen to Retro FM on 92.0 FM on Sundays around Dublin, particularly between 10am and 3pm when Mike Doyle and Derek Jones are presenting. The latter two shows are also broadcast, with the help of their friends at Energy Power, on 1395 kh MW.

I must admit to listening to a lot of radio during the night if wakeful so bit serendipity'. This would be mostly Newstalk, and blissfully free of ads. Only one hour of 'catch up' on RE .... but the radio podcasts are good way to chase down some item of interest that you might have caught half of. Not a great fan of Pat Kenny but can have interesting guests and the program is segmented into podcast for each topic.

They changed their frequency a few weeks back to 1440 kh, or 208 metres. That's right - the same frequency that was used by Radio Luxembourg! Energy Power AM even mention "the great 208"!Dec A Wash wrote: ↑Mon Dec 06, 2021 10:28 am Energy (Power) AM on 1395 kh MW on weekends around Dublin. It plays oldies - often the lesser played ones.
Some more weekend oldies pirates:
ABC 80s on 93.3 FM (it was on 96.0 until earlier this year).
The 90s Network on 98.4 FM.
