Re: Joe Duffy's Liveline: otherwise sometimes known as Deathline
"de rich tapestry of Irish life"
One of Joe's many over-used expressions that never gets old. And by "never gets old", I mean is like a cancer returning to one's ears after being given the all clear by one's oncologist.
I'm quite surprised that the caller personally knew Mr. Duffy. It's a rare occurrence that this would happen on a caller-driven show such as Liveline.

Thank You For Your Service. Which I believe was a phrase that was oft-used on boards.ie

Joseph, why not ask the ne'er do wells to leave it into the local presbytery? Or leave it into the Student's Union in Trinity when they register for Medicine next month?

I personally believe that the people who mistakenly took this man's bag did so entirely in error. I suspect that when they realize the error they will drive the length and breath of the country to reunite the bag with its rightful owner. It will be a joyous reunion with I suspect lots of fizzy pop taken out to celebrate the occasion. I do hope I get an invite!

I never heard of a pandy bat. Is that a stick for herding pandas around at Dublin zoo ?

Aren't they allowed dress up as girls if they like? Maybe they identify as girls? Or non-binary? Or perhaps they are gender fluid? No matter how they identify they are always welcome in the house of Woke Tadhg.

Never mind the colour of the buses, Duffy. What about the RTÉ gravy train?

Now Joe really talking out of his hole and mixing up everything. CIE and the other things have not been done away they are just in under the TFI brand. Yes, there's far too much street clutter but TFI is only a minor part of the problem. As for colour schemes on buses - and he has a former spokesman from CIE on - the company that brought you 'Grotto' blue slapped all over cut stone buildings and anything else that didn't move.

It/they/xem is devoid of colour and personality so as not to offend anyone.

I wasn't listening but I hope Joe didn't mention busdrivers with "trannies" again. I am still upset about that incident though it took place several years ago now. So #unwoke

In the late 70s two lads broke into our local CBS and robbed all the "leathers"
It wasn't long before thay were found out. They were brought out to the courtyard and walloped on the back of the legs for 10 minutes in front of the whole school. Pity there weren't cam/phones back then.

He can be a right condescending, argumentative prick when he wants to be.

No Gardai - how would there be when they are all in patrol cars instead of on the beat. Policing in Dublin, and throughout Ireland, is a bad joke. No attempt at proactive policing just kind words and good bedside manners when commiserating with victims after the fact.

Good to see that Joe's sighs are back with a passion.
