I caught it halfway through and I must listen to the whole segment properly - an interesting item.

Andrea Gilligan is back from her two week holiday in the States (even admitted to Pat Kenny to topping up her tan with the fake stuff too), followed by Europeans don't know how queue WTF!! Then onto the Coronation ....a gift that Newstalk have been milking all day - never has the British National Anthem got so much airtime on Irish radio......As a dyed in the wool monarchist I'll be watching and F***K the begrudgers.

The fuss about the Coronation is to do with it being broadcast on RTE - as if any self respecting West Brit would watch RTE coverage in preference to a mainland TV station.

The Hard Shoulder: Cuddihy excelling himself in the "sports" segment with Ger Gilroy sneering at the Coronation - neither seem to realise just how begrudging and pathetic they come across as with their inferiority complex. .

How exactly are Newstalk managing linking sports with the Coronation. Is it the national anthem being played at sports event

There was no segway at all and it was like a chat you might have at the counter in your local. All Newstalk presenters like to milk the living daylights out every populist topic they can. Cuddihy and his kind would be first in line to tug a forelock if they thought that there was anything in it for them. There's a particular inferiority complex amongst many in the Irish media and establishment that like to laugh at England at every opportunity - whether it's Brexit or strikes.....little old Ireland is a paradise no problems here....

The "Coleman & Kelly Laugh In" is gold this morning - amongst the items covered is the need for a third (!) terminal at Dublin Airport (Ciara thinks a third runway too!) - this nonsense is to be squeezed in with a piece on the need to be green..Also we learnt that Ciara's husband is more 'woke' than her....  is it even possible to measure that level of wokeness?

Then more nonsense about the idea of only needing to get an NCT for an old car every two years - sure why bother at all?

Mexican student run over and robbed by scumbags but he is resilient and understands about 800 years of oppression - God help us but what has that got to do with vermin maiming and robbing people

Great repeated free advertising for a certain well known porn site this morning. The name of the site has already been given out at least four times in the show so far and then a warning for younger ears.

No doubt ALL other Newstalk shows will return to the topic throughout the day - another topic that keeps on giving for lazy radio presenters.

The Hard Shoulder plumbs new depths of stupidity and cringeworthyness this afternoon: breathless presentation about a Harry & Meghan car disaster that DIDN'T HAPPEN - how disappointing a tragedy would be great for driving listenership for the next month or so. Then that oaf Henry McKean with a piece on flirting and emojis.....Jesus H Christ - a 'National' radio station.

Now we have the token (kind of) Protestant, former SF, now Independent TD, Violet Ann Wynn, on with her insightful comments on the Clare migrant situation.....she is about as coherent as the host of the show. Time to switch over to the Braying Ass on RTE...

You'll have to decipher that Del. Personally, I don't give a fiddler's what Harry and Meghan get up to and I'd really rather not have my precious time taken up with it, but I'm intrigued as to what a "carry disaster" is.

Sorry, I can't spell for nuts when I'm in demented mode. Should have been car rather than carry. A non-story - the sort of shyte that gives Newstalk staff a hard on.

I confess to being a little disappointed with that answer, I had visions of Harry trying to carry Meghan into Westminster Abbey in a suitcase or something.

Ah come on. It was only a gangland shooting. Could have happened anywhere. I mean the fact that Eddie Hearn has had to seriously beef up the security is just an unfortunate coincidence

The people in Ireland at the time were already "Protestants" because the Irish Christian Church hadn't accepted the changes in the administration of the church elsewhere in Europe, notably, of course, France, the birthplace and steadfast supporter of the Holy Roman Empire. The Pope had no authority here and so it is believed that this was the justification that Henry2 had for seeking Papal permission to invade Ireland, ironic isn't it.

Jonathan Healy and Shane Coleman on this morning and the show is a complete shambles. Total BS about litter and how it is the most environmentally conscious younger generation ever that are responsible for it. I doubt many environmentally conscious people, of whatever age, throw their litter on the street. That the country is a filthy tip can be laid firmly at the door of the government and local authorities... and I am so annoyed that further comment is not possible at this time. In other news, Ciara Kelly said yesterday that she regularly gets mistaken for Rachel Allen.....

For the most part, I'd agree with you Del, particularly on the part of Wexford County Council, come to Courtown next weekend and see the effect of visitors trying to cope with litter bins not being emptied for three days, but there are exceptions to every rule.
The other day I stopped off in Bray on my way home. There were two young women with a gaggle of young kids enjoying fish and chips and burgers and coke on one of the benches on the promenade and as I returned to my car they just stood up and walked away, leaving all the remains of the meal with its wrappings sitting on the bench. Anybody who knows Bray will confirm that there is no shortage of litter bins in the area, indeed there were at least eight giant roll-top bins within a fifteen foot radius of these people but they just couldn't be arsed and needless to say, those kids will likely grow up just the same. Within seconds, of course, gangs of crows and seagulls had succeeded in spreading the mess far and wide.
