RTÉ's True mission as assigned by its own agenda

#1

Post by 95438756 »

The Propagation of Sport by every possible means and media. GAA, Rugby and Soccer in order of priority.
The Persecution of the HSE
Milk the last drop of broadcasting every last tidbit of Positive News. In a similar vein promote by all means the rte young scientist competition which will as if by magic be covered at all angles in the next day or two.

What's your take on RTE's plans?

RTE and 'plan' in the same sentence does not compute.

I think they are doing Rugby a disservice with the way it's advertised. I know it puts a lot of people off.

Regarding the GAA is the biggest ponzi scheme ever.
Making players train at a professional level and taking in all the profits.
I like both codes but I don't need to watch it in a fancy stadium. I d love to see a breakaway GAA league or championship.

I wonder will the winning Young Scientist be about climate change and a non biased pragmatic view of the whole issue ???

RTE's plan is simple. Get Miriam O'Callaghan to present it

I think you'll find she's too busy planning her campaign for the Park when the Hobbit returns to obscurity.

It's spends a disordinate amount of time trying to make rugby a thing....Id be interested to see viewing figures for these games Vs LOI games

It's gaa coverage is awlful and the attempt to copy sky sports style coverage and extreme PC nature of it,has made near unwatchable, prefer the TG4 coverage now tbh

It's main purpose, seems to be to make poor copies of UK reality shows with very obscure celebritys, though fair city is quite well written, with willingness to tackle serious issues at times.....but fcuk me is the acting awlful and sets tacky as hell

Can't say I had noticed RTE making a go of rugby coverage - I wish they would - and try to get the United Rugby Championship back from TG4.

The brief few minutes rte got flicked onto by mistake and a gimmigrant advertising for Panadol.
Makes since telling all those lies in immigration would give you a headache, life hack. Thanks Gormon.

Not as much coverage, compared to this time last year, of the RTE Young Scientist competition. Just RTE and the Irish Times. And not much more on the net, except for the young scientist website and youtube channel. No ground breaking project then. Just another leaving cert pupil's face on Friday's edition of the Irish Times, and reciprocal coverage on RTE 6.01 news.

Great programming. Great value. I'd happily pay a little more for it
