THIS WEEK radio 1 Sunday @ 1
THIS WEEK radio 1 Sunday @ 1
Listened today.
Hard, Hard listening. Carol was interviewing the minister across a range of topics - the reliance on cattle, latvian peat, health..
The only takeaway I got from the interview that Leo, Michael had basically commanded this poor fella minister to go on This Week, and
be the government MUDGUARD

Great interviewing of Health Minister Stephen Donnelly, who as usual wouldn't answer question about whether employers should cancel Christmas parties for another year: A SIMPLE YES NO ANSWER.
I'll be voting another fella / lady instead of ye next bi / General election, Stephen, sonny!

Pleasantly surprised today with interview between presenter and Data Protection commissioner Helen Dixon who is receiving a good grilling.
So today at least, "This week" is not some "Saturday View Plus" sort of program

Well well, Eamon's done his homework. No die hard dyed in the wool green myself I thought he gave quite a good interview. 7 minutes long or so. No real hesitation and he withstood the interviewer's assault fairly well.
And then back to the misery porn of the covid. (ok, so no dash by RTE to an ad break either, another credit I'll concede them with)

I heard it also. Sounds like he had his homework done or someone grabbed him, sat him down and managed to get some sense into him.
What annoys me is that certain political parties are never examined and questioned to the same extent. They can waffle on unchallenged.

Eamon is a pain in the hole and with his nose in the trough and he has no intention of taking it out. On the positive side he'll surely be ousted as party leader soon or there won't be a party to lead. Meantime my party membership sub remains in my bank account.
'no more blah blah blah'

Today on This week, there was a moderately lengthy segment about the Educational Establishment Wondering why 6th year students don't apply for the university courses on offer by the CAO which are the jobs where employers are crying out for.
Because most of these courses where employers are crying out for need good bit north of 500 Leaving Cert points.
Youre also gonna need better than a 2.1 degree which barely justifies doing the course for you.
fecking useless segment.

Caught last TWO segments today 15th may
Semi Competent section about Army Pay, and fact that pay for a certain rank is only €302 , and they still want to attract 30000 recruits.
Final segment about Boris Johnson going to Northern Ireland on Monday to tell the five parties to get the shit done - a bit abruptly closed down at the end so as not to run overtime for the 2pm sports coverage - a mortal sin to impact this on a Sunday now, and squeeze in the ad break.
Over on boards the shinnerbots will spam ad hominem about the last segment.

Kevin from the DAA got a complete evisceration today, 29yh May at the hands of the Presenter and rightly so.
What a mess at Dublin Airport , DAA : It's 2021, DAA and not the 1980s anymore
This Week is now on the case and poor Kevin & the DAA have a week to get their act together for the whit weekend.

Mentioned to the missus today that we hadn't had a holiday for a long time and her answer was a sign of the times. It wasn't the war, the pandemic, or the expense. It was "I'm not hanging around Dublin airport for four or five hours"gugleguy wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 4:35 pm Kevin from the DAA got a complete evisceration today, 29yh May at the hands of the Presenter and rightly so.

Today's program *should have the makings of a good program based on development in ongoing local and global affairs right now
but
I myself have applied this rash presumption before.
The program could well be a "Saturday View Sunday edition" as it has been on previous occasions like this weekend.
The jury is out.

The Jury has Passed today's edition.
After interviewing head if HSE, they gave an interview to "head of communication" or more aptly put Official Mud Guard Kevin for Dublin Airport.
Cork shannon or knock airports don't figure on Irish passenger mindsets: "Follow the Crowd"

Good old RTE dug hard to find some anti-monarchist sentiment in Britain and when they couldn't find much amongst the public turned to some chip carrying media hacks who were allowed to try and distort things. Off to the Tower with them - bloody peasants!
Amanda Vickery https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanda_Vickery one of the disloyal rabble - her name is in the drawer.
