Pat Kenny Show

WAS listening to Pat interview this Consultant who feels hurt and hit upon, because he pontificating that "baby doctors" should work themselves to the bone.
Because of the negative feedback about him, he was summoned to a discplinary session by his superiors.
Then the same consultant had to take a month holiday in a friends house, poor fella.

He is now oddly enough preaching on how "baby doctors" should ensure they don't burn out.

This consultant guy is know in carreers as a "Ruthless Climber". He can crash and burn. Hope I never come under his care.

Potentially good interview about Robert Fisk, war correspondent who died last year scuppered at the start by stand in host ?? I suppose it was the interviewee who supplied the questions she wanted asked beforehand. "He was the love of your life" even though they had divorced. Click.

The same interview was interesting on RTE a few days ago but only bears listening to once.

I seen a pay walled article in the independent that she wrote yesterday and clicked on her twitter profile. What a feckin dose she is. Glad I'm not listening to that. Wonder will Pat challenge her on some of her views.

We've missed the boat at the lmg

Today Pat is discussing how employers can compel staff to come back to the workplace with his guest. Pats of course on the employer side.

I stopped listening to him during the Pandemic. Maybe it was just me but he actually seemed to be getting a kick out of the misery porn his show was peddling which I found distasteful

Me too. Pre-pandemic always would have had him down as a quality broadcaster - professional, balanced and objective etc.

Not sure now whether I had not noticed what a nutter he was previously or did he become a nutter thanks to covid.

Either way he's a nutter now, so I moved the dial.

He's hard going, I've been putting up with him on and off since the late 1970's and he has not changed or improved over the years.

Brexit and Trump broke a lot of people - just broke them and they lost their ability to rationally think.

Covid made it 1000 times worse for them.

But yeah, complete lunatic, I remember he was advocating for 2 year old kids to be masked up in creches.

Is he starting the campaign for winter masking yet ?

Interviewing guests from rape crisis centre and porn advocate.
Porn advocate mentioned "...hardening of the penis...when this goes soft does it signify the end of sex.."

.....Cue to Pat abruptly cutting her short and saying this material belongs to a different area, closing down the segment and going to an ad break!

This morning Pat was in mid-interview with the author of a new book on lighthouses when he apologised, cut him dead and went to talk to Vicky Phelan's solicitor before returning to the interview. Cringeworthy stuff and it wasn't breaking news as it had already been on the 11 o'clock bulletin. If it had been a big name like Freddie Forsyth that he was interviewing he might have cut the interview short but he certainly wouldn't have left him hanging. Steam powered radio and ultra embarrassing for the unfortunate David Hare to have to resume his interview. How many years has Pat been broadcasting....10, 20, 30, 40, no, almost 50!

Incidentally, as is Newstalk's forte, the chat with Vicky Phelan's solicitor was followed by a plethora of medical Ads - only thing missing was one for Fanagan's Undertakers.

It goes without saying that I am very sorry for the tragedy that has befallen Vicky Phelan and her family, and my comments are about Newstalk's Killinaskully FM style of broadcasting.

Prize competition on Today's show is for The Intercontinental Hotel, Ballsbridge, Dublin. These reviews from Tripadvisor - listed under AVERAGE and some of which I would have thought more appropriate for TERRIBLE. https://www.tripadvisor.ie/Hotel_Review ... ublin.html

Looking at some of the reviews under VERY GOOD - here's one Really poor food at dinner and breakfast; and another Excellent staff, Great Service, Mediocre Food, Awful Spa Experience ....some people have a poor understanding of the English language. Reminds me of the type of fools that leave negative feedback on eBay and go on to praise the item and service.... Anyway, as one who had the dubious pleasure in working in a 4 Star hotel for several years I wouldn't take a present of a stay in one.

My point is that idiots leave good reviews when they clearly should be in the poor or awful category. I do Tripadvisor reviews myself and post as I find things. I wouldn't say "the food was awful, the beds unmade and the shower broken" and then mark it overall as good. :D
