You are in for a treat then :D
Add Friday Night Dinners, Inside no. 9, Year of The Rabbit, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace and Psychoville to the list as well. I keep thinking of more, OP should have asked are there any British comedies you really hate because there are so many good ones ;)

I can't believe there's 30 posts on British comedies and Last of the Summer Wine hasn't been mentioned once!!

My list...
  • Fawlty
  • Extras < Highly recommend!
  • The Office
  • Only Fools...
  • Alan Partridge
  • Last of...
Do panel shows count? My sides do split sometimes watching QI or WILTY.

Almost unbelievably, a poster on the "Worst British Comedies" thread has listed 'Last of the Summer Wine' - each to their own but .......

And I stand by that! I just found it dreary beyond belief.

On the subject of panel shows, raised by another poster, I would not include panel shows personally. It might merit another thread though!

We've been living with my late 60s Father in Law for a while now, and himself and my 7 year old son have been bonding over The Good Life :D

I am quite partial to The Good Life myself. Paul Eddington ("Jerry Ledbetter") went on to Yes Minister, one of my favourites as I said before. I was not mad about subsequent comedies starring Felicity Kendall ("Barbara Good") - Solo - or Penelope Keith ("Margo Ledbetter") -To The Manor Born.

Seeing the repeats now, I realise the 'comedy' was a bit drawn out. I also realise that I watched the show because I was totally nuts about Penelope Keith. Hope Mrs N doesn't see this, we were married by then. :D

Motherland is good.
Rumpole of the Bailey is not a comedy strictly speaking but it has some very funny moments.

Steptoe & Son.

As Joe Duffy would say 'wonderful, wonderful'! Whether on the telly or the wireless this was magic and if you don't find it funny check to see if you have a pulse.

Here's one of the best ever snippets - watch to the end!

Eh, nope :o . She never did it for me. Felicity was just too much "sugar and spice and all things nice" for me. I always imagined Penelope a secret vixen. I've seen her recently in some sort of travelogue programme, where acting isn't required, and I got the impression of a real life snob, which disappointed me.

Another one just popped into my head Hale & Pace. They had two characters that called themselves The Management. Ron and Ron. I think they were a slag off of the Krays. Then they used to send up the presenters on children's TV. Cruel but funny.

"To the Manor Born" should have warned you that Penelope Keith is like Sean Connery in everything she's appeared in - she just plays herself.

Just watched an episode of George & Mildred tonight and I had forgotten just how good it was. While the clothes and decor may have dated, the humour certainly hasn't!

For me it has to be Snuff Box (the genius of Matt Berry!)

Damn almost forgot the genius of Sean Lock's '15 Stories High':

My fave episode is about the dead swan and a side story concerning a pair of trainers. The last scene is pure magic... 😂
