How many million would they get for Montrose? They could move to an industrial unit like Virgin Media
Re: Bakehurst Orders Immediate Recruitment Freeze in RTE
Right this is really annoying me. This narrative that if people don't pay their TV licence the tax payer will have to bail out RTE. Tax payers are the bloody TV licence buyers. They have chosen not to pay directly. If politicians decide to use exchequer funds to bail out RTE anyway, they really can't see the wood for the trees

it's the law.
So the line echoed by that plank from Cork who admitted one of his family sucked from the Montrose teat.

The Unions are still very upset about it. So spare a thought folks. ;p
No doubt they'll get coverage on radio 1 / RTE news over the coming days for this draconian harsh measure in their myopic vision.

If RTE want to cut costs they should start at the top and seriously cut the pay of 'stars' like Tubridy and Duffy not the lower paid staff.
'no more blah blah blah'

Tubridy is toast, Duffy recently signed a 3 year contract but will probably be sent out to pasture once that's expired.
A lot of the old guard probably know the jig is up. If it's not the whole thing needs to be disbanded, public service broadcasting should be for the public who fund it, not the "stars" sucking the teat dry.
RTÉ has unfortunately turned into a monster of its own making.

RTE are outsourcing world news to the woke elite. That’s what we’re paying for. Like this shit from Reuters that appeared in dozens of online publications around the same time(first example I picked from the world news section of rte)
https://www.rte.ie/news/2023/0915/14053 ... ne-russia/ Reuters admit at the bottom of the article that they were unable to verify the headline.
They also include a paragraph that is completely at odds with the headline and main body of the story, just slipped right in there.
“ Ukraine's Deputy Defence Minister, Hanna Maliar initially reported on Thursday that Andriivka had been brought under Ukrainian control, but later said that was inaccurate as fighting was still raging around the village.”
In contrast, take a look at this article:
https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2023/09/ ... mut-a82465
This is what the general staff said, the person making reports on Facebook not about their own loses, but about enemy loses, who ends the post with “tough battles are on going”
“ The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Bakhmut and Melitopol directions.
Ukrainian soldiers lead offensive actions south of the city of Bakhmut, had partial success in the area of Klishyivka. In the course of assault operations occupied Andriyivkoû of the Donetsk region, inflict significant losses in manpower and equipment, strengthened on the reached borders.”

Which article is the propaganda?

Re: Bakehurst Orders Immediate Recruitment Freeze in RTE
The Rte article I posted has been “updated” making my post look awfully stupid.
No corrections, just updates. Frankenstein news that gets rewritten ala Orwell and the ministry of truth.
This is what the headline used to say “Ukraine troops retake village south of Bakhmut, military says” and the main body of the article has changed dramatically. An article that they still admit they are unable to verify.Updated / Friday, 15 Sep 2023 14:52

Right so RTE is now beyond the denial phrase ( jettisoned a radio tv presenter too )
