Favourite Clint Eastwood Films (Acting and/or Directing and/or Producing)

#1

Post by Dec A Wash »

Clint Eastwood has a very large body of work both as an actor and as a director, and he has produced a number of films too. List your favourites as an actor and/or your favourites as a director and/or your favourites as a producer.

In my case, I am going to concentrate on the acting and the directing. They are the two areas he is most associated with.

My favourite Clint Eastwood films for his acting include:
Dirty Harry
Magnum Force
The Enforcer
Absolute Power
Gran Torino

My favourite Clint Eastwood films for his directing include:
Play Misty for Me
The Bridges of Madison County
Absolute Power
Gran Torino

For his westerns
The Outlaw Josey Wales
High Plains Drifter
Pale Rider
Unforgiven are all good.

Unforgiven, by some distance. The last great western in my view.

"Where Eagles Dare" (1968) and "The Eiger Sanction" (1975) - two oldies but goodies starring our hero.

Tightrope is a decent crime thriller, quite similar to the Dirty Harry films.
Heartbreak Ridge is daft but fun.
Blood Work is quite a good adaptation of the Michael Connelly book.

Just watched 'The Mule' on Netflix the other night. Not his best but not bad at all and well worth a watch. It's great that he continues to direct and act in quality movies into his 90's.

The only Clint Eastwood movie that I never liked was "Every Which Way but Loose" (1978) where Clyde the Orangutan complete overshadows his owner's performance.

Could you watch it after that trailer?

White Hunter Black Heart

In the line of fire
the villain John Malcovich is excellent.

Gran Torino 'Get off my lawn'

Dirty Harry: The dead pool. Irish actor Villain Liam Neeson , a ruthless film director passes himself off okay.

The Rookie. Training in rookie cop Charlie sheen. Scene with car jumping from one skyscraper to another.

Gran Torino is one of my favorites, one of the most spiritual films of recent years
