Anyway while navigating the crap interface that is Amazon Prime I came up with this which kept me amused for nearly an hour. The production is described as Network Indigenius - suppose that means its made by that Natives, not a bad job either :D

A brilliant series that I thoroughly enjoyed!

I see The Big Short has been added to Amazon. Terrific movie about a group of investors who bet against the US property market as the crash was coming. Steve Carell is great in it.

IMDB 7.8

I said I'd put up anything new on Prime that is imdb 7 or better, two today.

We have High Fidelity (2000) imdb 7.5

Probably not my cup of tea as its a Romance Comedy.
When record store owner Rob Gordon gets dumped by his girlfriend, Laura, because he hasn't changed since they met, he revisits his top five breakups of all time in an attempt to figure out what went wrong. As Rob seeks out his former lovers to find out why they left, he keeps up his efforts to win Laura back.
Also The Father (2020) imdb 8.3

Again not for me but has some great actors (Anthony Hopkins, Olivia Colman).
A man refuses all assistance from his daughter as he ages. As he tries to make sense of his changing circumstances, he begins to doubt his loved ones, his own mind and even the fabric of his reality.

"Disturbing the Peace" (2020)

Another to avoid unless you like train wrecks. 0/10

A quote from Wiki says all you need to know '"dull-as-dishwater, paint-by-numbers cinematic hiccup with no discernible reason for being".

There are a couple of other reasonable films supposedly new to Prime today (according to JustWatch) and a rake of them yesterday. Only one that really stands out to me is

Platoon (1986) 8.1

6 so far today which reach my 7 or better imdb catagory. I'm sure you've all seen them except the last one which may well be worth the effort. How The Rock gets on to the list I don't know, not a bad film but not that good.

RoboCop (1987) 7.6

The Rock (1996) 7.4

The Great Escape (1963) 8.2

The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) 7.4

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988) 7.4

Jhimma (2021) 8.3 - Indian with subtitles.

"Deja Vu" (2006)

A thriller with a difference and nice guy, Denzel Washington, in the lead role - he wouldn't go slapping people at the Oscars.
Anyway, this is a new twist on the standard terrorist movie and I can recommend. Spoilers in trailer! 8/10

Yes I notice things seem to move between streaming services .... I would recommend Julia (HBO series) presently on Sky. I wonder will it pop up on regular TV or other service ?
