Christmas Chocolates Tubs/Tins : Your Ranking.

#1

Post by Mr Daniel F. O'Leary »

It's that time of year again, when 4 tubs of chocolate become common in shops in Ireland and the UK.

I'm talking about Roses, Quality Street, Celebrations and Heroes.

Here's my ranking from favourite to least favourite tubs
1. Heroes
2. Roses
3. Quality Streets
4. Celebrations

I suppose it also comes down to the ones we get most often as well. My main issue with the Roses is that I feel they change them too much (I'll never forget them replacing the green caramel for a green coffee chocolate). At least with Quality Streets, they've stayed mostly the same throughout the year's.

My favourite sweets from each tub
1. Crunchie bits, Dinky Decker and Fudge.
2. Hazelnut, Truffle and Caramel barrel.
3. The Green Triangle, the Purple Nut one and Strawberry Cream.
4. Malteasers, snickers and Mars bar.

What's your ranking of said Tubs and your favourite sweets from each?

Harder caramels, then fudge, then coconut ones. Anything else is a bit meh, although I might eat mini mars at a push if they are just lying there. Chocolate keeps me awake though which is extremely sad  My on-again off-again testy relationship with chocolate is coming to an end.

I cannot really remember clearly what is in the tubs but I will put Roses first. Now I am full of doubt.
Thinking out loud, and trying to be occasionally less wrong...

I myself don't really like hard fudge in chocolate, especially in the Tubs.

Éclairs are my least favourite of the Heroes for this very reason.

Hardly eaten a chocolate in a box or tin since Terry's 1767 assortment stopped production years ago.

Sweets thats what you get nowadays, palm oil and sugar, gone are the days cocoa has any involvement in what's in a tin of "chocolates".

I'm partial to Roses and Hero's.

My guilty pleasure for Christmas is some After Eights. Yes I'm a savage and have them at seven o'clock

None, since they stopped including the coffee ones.

Oh, and also because the shops hete are full of Lindt, Milka and other proper chocolate selections. The tins/tubs aren't as useful, though! :D

Celebrations with loads of Twix and Bounty ones. Rest I I'd scoff if there was nothing else to chomp on.

Roses.

Nobody like the Lemons sweets ?
