"Sandwich and Tea Coffee for €12.50" the menu said.
Ordered a sandwich and tea on the list.
Few minutes later was told in fact Tea would cost €2 more.
Because the sandwich was the most expensive at 11.50.
The waiter tried to press me nicely to pay extra. I said no.
Ended up just ordering the sandwich without the tea.11.50
Won't be returning
Place bit empty too.

formerly known as. about 33% occupied. Must look at "Reviews" for the current establishment on Trip Advisor, now a bullsh|t site.

Never knew it changed names. Wasn't an establishment I frequented very much. But I'd well believe the rip off prices

Twelve

Euro

Fifty?

For a sandwich and a cup of hot water (with brown stuff in it)?

I've just done a fortnight's shopping, mostly bread, dairy, variations on the theme of dead pig, and (three bottles of gold-medal-winning) wine for just under 85€. There's the makings of a fierce load of sandwiches in there.

God be with the days when fine dining in a Dublin pub consisted of a sandwich in a cellophane bag stuck under the grill and coffee was Maxwell House. The Lincoln Inn specialised in toasties with the cellophane burnt onto the sandwich. Kehoe's, South Anne Street still did that type of service pre-pandemic and their sambos, while not burnt, needed to be prised open with a knife to allow them cool down before attempting to consume. Grogan's near the Market Arcade is another favourite and they also specialise in 'gourmet' food.
