Healthy office snacks ideas

#1

Post by Norman Breaks »

I work about 75/25 in office and on the floor.
In the office I often get snackish. I try to keep it healthy but it often veers into the crisps and chocolate realm.
Right now I'm eating mini carrots and sometime I get celery sticks too.
Plantain chips are a good one sometimes.
What else are you snacking on at work?

Dates give me a pick me up feeling.
Mandarins.
Oatcakes and hummus.

Chocolate too though, and I would have killed for a packet of crisps today. But it's not justified to drive a 12 miles round trip for a packet of tayto , or so I'm told 🥺

I had an idea recently that sushi would make a good work snack - I have not got round to implementing the idea yet. Make small batches, because it is just a snack. I use veggie filling like avocado, carrots, cucumber, pepper, radish, etc. It will keep in the fridge for a few days. Quite easy to make. And top with soya sauce and pickled ginger and wasabi when you want to eat.

Where's my personal chef??

When I snack at work, it's usually because I need the sugar/energy boost, so I'll take whatever sugary, chocolately goodies are available (wouldn't have crisps, though - find them generally unsatisfying as a snack); but on the "healthy" end of the spectrum, I'd opt for a fistful of dried figs, raisins or apricots.

Whole nuts, not the roasted and salted type.
Fruit
Rice cakes
Crackers and cheese
Plenty of water too

A bag of apples or a fist of bananas goes a long way.
