What I had for dinner last night

#1

Post by MrT »

One of my favourite forums on boards until I just stopped using it, rather than the particular boards forum which was (and also its members) fantastic.

Last night after a few beers to many thinking about dinner I ended up having a burger bun stuffed with lettuce.

Tonight should be better, put pork ribs in the oven 4 hours ago @120 degrees.

I'm not embarrased, honest.

Chicago Town tomato-stuffed cheese pizza, with a packet of Serrano ham snipped over, and slices of parmesan added.

Twas tasty :)

Last night was bbq. The usual fare and I slow cooked pork belly in the oven for 4 hours @ 120. Finished it off on the bbq (I’m a traditionalist and use firewood). Smashing.

Tonight I went to get the remainders of last nights fare only to discover it had been donated to last nights guests. So tonight it is a coleslaw and lettuce sandwich, and a half sack of cans

Had a pizza delivered to me from a local Italian restaurant and the pizza tasted lovely but the toppings were all over the shop.

The toppings were tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, Italian sausage, southern fried chicken, bacon & ham, but it looked like they had made a pepperoni pizza, and then launched all the other toppings wearing a blindfold. They just kept falling off the thing - I had to get a fork as I had a plate of meat after I ate the pizza.

It was lovely, just very messy.

We went out for dinner for first time in ages! Had wings and a burger, all good and tummies full. Im currently looking for a recipe for sausage burger. Tesco used to do them but they are never in stock

What do you mean sausage burger? If it's just sausage meat formed into a round, I take the skins off my favourite sausages and mush all together. If you have a willing child to do this, so much the better. I mostly use this approach for home made sausage rolls baked in bought puff pastry. Shop sausage rolls seem to have some unidentifiable grey substance in them that I loathe.

thanks for that. Yes I guess it is essentially that. Like McDonalds sausage mcmuffins? I would always get the sausage patties in Tesco, yummy, but they've been out of stock for a good while now. I agree completely about sausage rolls from shops, the 'meat' is awful looking!

A chicken steak burger from Aldi in a brioche bun, homemade coleslaw and skin on fries. And a quarter sack of cans. I’ve really got to improve my diet this summer.

I was going to say something similar.

Otherwise, I've seen both Richmond and Iceland list "breakfast patties", which might be sausage burgers.
