Had a mare of a spin on Sunday. Think my regulator rectifier is gone south for the winter.

Regrec isn't too bad a fix tbh. They're a weak spot on a lot of Hondas. I got mine done a few years back.

I moved recently and the highly recommended mechanic is slow AF to reply to me. I've a bit of a road trip coming up and wanted to get my fork seals done before it. Now I'm kinda forced to maybe do the trip (few hundred miles) without getting it done. Not ideal.

It's not the battery.
Went out to city spares earlier, and the lads there reckon its more than likely the rectifier, but it COULD be the generator, so i'm parked up for a few days. They're very busy out there, Eric is off, so next wednesday is the earliest he can get me in

That’s a bit of a distance! You were north Dublin based, weren’t you?

Watch you don't make shit of your discs and pads if the leak gets bad, I lent a bike to a mate who kept riding even when the fork oil was running down the legs and it got all over the pads and discs.
Hard to clean off discs and impossible for pads.

Balls. I'm meant to go to the Armoy Races at the end of the month, so need to get that sorted first. Phonecall to mechanic in 3...2...1...

Not sure if anyone else has noticed, but IMO there is a new hazard for us to look out for on Irish roads. Almost wiped out yesterday somewhere in Wexford by a campervan coming around a bend two feet over a solid white line and not budging.
This was the second such incident I've had with one of those dopes recently. I assume that many of them are driven by people not used to the size of the thing.

Yep. Camper sales sky rocketed last year and won't always be driven by capable drivers. And some of them are BIG yokes to drive (as I found out recently driving one).
As always, assume the worst of anybody else on the road!

Hello Everyone,
I'm a forum lurker, with occasional posts when looking for help. I hope everyone from you-know-where registers on here, as I enjoy all the posts and photos. AND the occasional ribbing I got for my Deau.

I'm a long time Bike rider and Campervan owner. I'm on the campervan group on Facebook - the questions posted there would suggest that there are a lot of newbies and people who haven't a clue. Lots of vans are LHD as well which people tend to overcompensate for when positioning in the road.
You'd need to be a confident driver to enjoy driving a big van on Irish roads.
Having said that I was lumbering slowly towards Dingle about a month ago in fairly busy traffic between Inch and Dingle and two lads hooned past me doing at least 160 - probably more. Type of thing you'd see on the Autobahn. I was genuinely worried for them.

Hadn't thought of the LHD factor. That would make sense.
I didn't clock where the driver was sitting because I was focussed on getting through the gap!

Non Bikers are generally poorly aware of bikes anyway. I had to drop mine where an elderly woman pulled out in front of me with her Corsa in the main street of a Co.Limerick village without looking. I managed to stop without hitting her but had to let the bike down. Picked it up and followed her asked if she'd seen me. I may as well have been from mars. Just something we need to factor in I guess.
