Seen any cheap or free ebooks? Post a link to them here.

There are lots of older titles available for free on Project Gutenberg.

Plenty of "grey area" (putting it mildly) sites for free ebooks and audio books but I don't want to link sites if it'll cause this new board problems. It'd be great if we could discuss stuff like this more openly than boards though.

The elibrary system is a gem. The only problem for some people is that the books are only in epub format or Adobe, so if you have a Kindle you can't load them easily. There are ways of course ... ;)

I know there are plenty of options on a windows PC but I always recommend Sumatra - A PDF reader because its small free and opens almost any book format you can throw at it. Its just annoying that there isn't anything as good for free for Android that I've found anyway.

I convert, store and sort all my ebooks on Calibre on my PC. I use it like my own personal e-library catalogue to transfer to my Kindle. It's a brilliant option and it has a portable version that can be tweaked for use on Android phones and tablets. Instructions on Google.

Yeah I love Calibre too, such an easy tool to use. Especially if you want to mass convert. I haven't updated in a while but I know the developer always used to update it regularly too.

Just like to mention something which is kind of off topic.
Audio books opened an unknown world to me
Some years after I had 'discovered' audio books I came across a short one from a guy who had discovered he was dyslexic after one of his children had been found to be.
Was like putting the last piece of a jigsaw in place :)

Fully recommend the library card for use of Libby for magazines, Borrowbox for books and Pressreader for newspapers from all over the world.
An excellent public service.

Highly recommend 10 Days in the Madhouse https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/59899

True story of a woman in the 1800s trying to get work as a journalist who ends up trying to plant themselves in an insane asylum to see if there's any truth to the "rumors" beginning to emerge.

Written by herself (Nellie Bly) and very absorbing. There's an annual award named after her to this day for upcoming investigative journalists.
