Whats the most laid back track you can think of?

#1

Post by 490808 »

Think this should be separate from the chill out thread?

I'd just downloaded Fleetwood Mac - The Peter Green Years (2022) and played Albatross. Hardly new to me as I first heard it back in 1968/9.

Got me thinking it has to be the most laid back piece of music I've ever heard.

Can you think of other tracks that are just as laid back?

Ambient is more switched off than laid back or chilled. Its music you don't even realise is being played, music to fill the vacuum of no sound at all that still doesn't amount to much.

With chill out and laid back at least you are listening to the music which is having an affect on you.

Springs immediately to mind

Also this, although to my mind, it rips off Albatross a good bit

Anything Nick Drake just puts me into a sad mood.

This would for me fall into the laid back but sad Nick Drake category but there are others (Way To Blue etc).

I love La Femme D'Argent @Bertie's Horse.

This is really similar. There are many gorgeous laid back tracks but this one always comes to mind first for me. Cinematic and dreamy.

Bucky's hot take is that you can't beat a bit of Take Five

What's Buckys hot take on this re-imagining of Golden brown in the laid back style of Brubeck?

Always reminds me of the summer of 1966, walking on South William Street with the (then) love of my life. There was a record shop at the top, near Mercer's Hospital, and they played it over and over.
