Cheers for that Del, I hadn't heard that tune in a long long time, good one Isn't that dude with the shades and playing the cello, the legendary Roy Wood?Del.Monte wrote: ↑Sun Mar 26, 2023 9:12 pm Since we're back in the early Seventies again my mind drifted back to the Electric Light Orchestra and this tune, the first track on their first album and about the third single that I ever bought. Still a classic, from a time before ELO became mainstream and mega. Great stuff!

That's the man and when checking elsewhere tonight I see that the 10538 Overture was originally written for his previous band "The Move" but not used - amazing all the useless information you can find when you go down the rabbit hole.

Two compilations I made for iTunes during lockdown
The first one features Irish singles released between 1982 and 1992, just before I turned 21.
and
The second covers the period from 1993 to 2003 when I lived in about 14 different flats and bedsits across the capital

I never, ever get tired of this CD as it the soundtrack to the happiest period of my life in 1999.

Shock horror, I found a contemporary artist that I like! I occasionally listen to CDs that I buy to sell and chanced to give this one a whirl - I'm hooked. Luckily I have several copies so will hold on to one for my own collection.

Not to disappoint you Del. But that's arguably her best album. What's followed since hasn't been as good

Back to 1960 this evening

The rock'n'roll disc is a real treat. Full of youthful hope & energy. They're all 80+ now if still alive.

Having a bit of a head-bang with this tonight! Love the Quo from their earliest stuff - play it loud!
All of €1 in the SVP. Also picked up some Edith Piaf, Rod Stewart, Whitney Houston, the Carpenters...mostly to sell but I will have to check them all out first.
