Couple of strange ones - for me - this evening: Agnetha Faltskog: My Colouring Book (2004) and Thin Lizzy: Whiskey in the Jar 1996 compilation album - both just to check their playback quality. Not tempted to keep either one - Thin Lizzy better than I would have remembered them.

Re: What are you listening to at the moment?
More CD testing tonight and listened to one of the discs in this Beethoven set (as new and €1 in a charity shop) - a great bit of music except on the 5th Symphony when I kept waiting for the guitars to break in (Uriah Heap/Status Quo style). I grew up listening to classical music and never really heard any pop music before secondary school so I can slip back into it easily.
Now I'm on to Chris Rea's Greatest Hits.....

I'm having trouble sleeping, a perfect time for listening to some exquisite glossolalia sung by the outstanding Lisa Gerrard.

I love Dead Can Dance. Those albums up to Aion are fantastic.

Many years ago in my local there was a Rod Stewart tribute act called Cod Stewart. He was pretty appalling but oddly he did do a great version of Gasoline Alley

Rod the Bod - not my cup of tea really but he had some voice and his music was the soundtrack of my youth. The CD will soon be on Adverts in case you feel the urge...

Re: What are you listening to at the moment?
He had a fantastic voice but always thought his musical output was bit patchy and the least said about his stuff in the 80's the better. But Every Picture Tells a Story and Atlantic Crossing are cracking albums

Another oldie tonight - again just checking for quality. Elkie Brooks had a great voice but was really just a one-hit wonder - in my memory - 'Pearl's a Singer ' and so after a new jewel case she's heading for Adverts.
and now a keeper....'The Essential Ennio Morricone' double CD.

Cork legends Hank Wedel & Ray Barron - not really my cup of tea but they are talented! Another CD that I had to play through before selling.
Usually I only appreciate this sort of stuff while knocking back pints in an 'old man's pub'.

Picked this DVD up this morning - appears unplayed - a whole euro! Brings me back to a time of being carefree and in love in 1997.

And this evening this gem which came in a massive auction job lot 200+ discs. Some great tracks on there and who knew K-TEL were still about in 2003?

Kelly Marie wasn't a one hit wonder (the definition is ONE UK top 40 hit) but a nice selection.

Fairground Attraction – The First Of A Million Kisses
Never heard of them before - a shortlived 1980s British folk/rock outfit - but quite listenable.
Played through once before putting up for sale.

New Super Deluxe Edition - 3 CDs + BD
Originally bought this on vinyl in KG Discs, Waterford on the day of release - 25 September 1989 - which was also the day I started third level education at the local Regional Technical College. Remember the sense of anticipation on the bus home and it did not disappoint. While apprehensive of the change in singer (Fish replaced by Steve Hogarth), these doubts were blown away by the time I got halfway through side 1.

Long car journey, one of the husbands Spotify playlists. In fecken fairness this is one of the best songs ever.

Great choice. One of my favorite Dylan tracks. A cracking album

Didn't think it was possible to do a long car journey in Ireland - going anywhere exciting?
