Desperate for something to listen to tonight and I came across a 5 CD set "The Ultimate Collection: Rock 100 Hits" - produced in 2008 it's a real mixture - CD .1. Contains all sorts of ancient tracks like Free's "All RIght Now", Whiskey in the Jar, Bat Out of Hell, "Just like Jesse James" by Cher and a ton of tracks that I haven't heard in years. Good stuff for the most part and it's better than the sound of traffic on the street below. Air comes at the price of having all the windows open and even 3 storeys up the traffic noise can be a pain.
I am returning to vinyl very soon as I was recently given a very expensive, unused, Hi-Fi system - all separates - amp, cd player, turntable etc. It's currently making its way from Tralee to Enniscorthy via Limerick and I'm quite excited not having had a proper Hi-Fi system since 1989. All I need then is some vinyl as my record collection is down to just three LPs - Brendan O'Dowda, Henry Mancini and the Black & White Minstrels - don't ask!
