It won't surprise my fans that being a dyed-in-the-wool Brit I love 'our' military parades and at this time of year with Remembrance Day approaching I always get drawn back to watching them on YouTube. The music, pageantry and nostalgia for the old days when...I'll say no more.

The Blues - yet again. Would normally have gone out for a few pints on a Friday but not since Feb.2020 - is it any wonder that I listen to the Blues.

George is easy to listen to on a weekend. Adagio from Spartacus and The Marino Waltz in honour of Shamrock Rovers title win.

In 1975 Columbia released Chicago’s Harry Truman as a single in Japan. It caused a frenzy at the time; the label overlooking how the US President chose to end World War II. Just took delivery of their new Japanese Singles 2CD+DVD set and here it is again. Those to refuse to learn from history are destined to repeat it.

It was like they decided to throw everything on - in case Sony / Columbia changed their mind and dropped them.

I saw them at The Mansion House, Waterford on 26 April 1991. Great gig, but remember it being quite short. The next day, Blitz Records (opposite Dunnes Stores) was flooded with people the next day – all looking for the Motown Junk 12″. He had one copy in stock. The following day, we boarded the Rapid Express to Dublin, catching the first date of Morrissey’s Kill Uncle tour at the National Stadium. What a rock ‘n’ roll weekend.

There's a Now Presents The 70s 5LP box due out next month - https://superdeluxeedition.com/news/now ... the-1970s/

This looks like a great set, albeit on the expensive side. Really well sequenced. I’ve put together a Spotify Playlist of it which consists of all 74 songs. I’ve included single versions wherever possible. Now playing it.

I let this play away yesterday on repeat while doing some work and felt really relaxed. Won't be everyone's cup of tea but, who knows, some might find it pleasant.

I will certainly like to listen to it again in some future time as a mellow accompaniment.
