Powerful lyrics in that song, gives great imagery, one of my favourite song lyrics and a man with a voice to suit the content. You should check out the original Seany if you get a chance.

Great album Happy Days. Tam Lin is a classic - watched the film recently. Ian MacShane and Ava Gardner.

Yeah I never knew it was a Sting song till a few days ago. Excellent lyrics, love it. Sting and Cash both do excellent versions.

I watched this video on YouTube about Cumbia music from Peru in the 1960s to the 80s.

So I've been listening to the compilation below this evening. Recommended if you like Santana, Latin Music and/or Reggae.

To Live And Die In L.A. is a great soundtrack, particularly the instrumentals. Have the vinyl and the CD.

A very strong comeback record. He's made a lot of decent tunes over the years. Even the SAW-produced Stronger from 1989 has its moments.

I keep my Cliff Richard and Nick Cave CDs in the same box. Strange bedfellows.

Reminds me, my favourite Nick Cave song. I always think of an good friend of mine I lost contact with over twenty years ago who was the spit of Nick Cave. For Pat.

Benny Goodman Live in the Carnegie Hall in 1938. I used to have the LP sadly long since disposed of but this version of "Sing, Sing, Sing" still hits the spot. Gene Krupa, the drummer, was still able to belt this out 30+ years later - see the second video. I have to block the RTE Mooney Show from my mind while listening (their theme tune) and also what Joey the Lips said about Jazz in "The Commitments".

The only time I'll admit I ever shed a tear when someone in a band passed away. To me he had the perfect voice and was the ultimate stage performer. Brimming with talent right up to his death. Sounds much better on record.
