Not a straight cover necessarily but if you listen to both you can hear that Lee Perry's version was for sure taking a lot from the Chi-lites version.

Muse - Feeling Good
Johnny Cash - Hurt, Personal Jesus and One
Sinead O’Connor - She Mpved Through The Fair
Duran Duran - White Lines and Perfect Day
Tom Jones/Stereophonics - Mama Told Me Not To Come
Manic Street Preachers - Theme From M*A*S*H

All vastly superior to the originals and excellent!!!!

Does She Moved Through The Fair count. Its a traditional song. So I'm nor sure there's an original version as such

The Cranberries performing a Fleetwood Mac classic in Paris in 1999 - not quite as good as the original but not far off it.

This is a Johnny Cash song, well it was written by the legendary Shel Silverstein whose written many songs people love but don't realize he wrote them.

Anyways Eddie belted it out at a pearl jam concert and I love this version.

Originally a Bee Gees song, you probably know the Take That version, but did you know the Salsoul Orchestra version?

A solid cover of a classic Isley Brother's track. The original was sampled by Ice Cube for It Was A Good Day

Cover of Rammstein's Spieluhr by Tergo Lupi.
The lyrics are very sad anyway about a child buried alive because he was playing at being dead.
