Favourite Movie/TV themes
Always been a fan of themes/soundtracks and there's so many out there! Here are two to kick things off...
Live and Die in LA (1985) - a cracking film too.
Marseille (2016) a two season Netflix Original French Political Drama - also superb.
I haven't a clue about the lyrics but what a sensuous voice and great music.

Foyle's War (2002-15) ITV WW.II. police series.
Lovely theme and I can't hear it without remembering the delectable Honeysuckle Weeks the female lead in the show.
Another unlikely excellent theme was that by Jake Bugg for the the BBC police series "Happy Valley" - very watchable but prematurely canned. As somebody who never could warm to Coronation Street I really liked Sarah Lancashire (Raquel from Corrie) in her lead role as a tough police sergeant in the series. Jake Bugg's "Trouble Town" theme song is very catchy too.

Opening Theme to Succession
Such a great piece of music, and absolutely sets the tone for the show.

The Eagle has Landed (1976)
A classic war movie starring Michael Caine and Donald Sutherland - and Jenny Agutter!
Great soundtrack.

I like anything by Thomas Newman. He done the soundtracks to The Green Mile, Road to Perdition, Shawshank Redemption and The Horse Whisperer. I've only seen two of the aforementioned films but have the soundtracks to all four.
Also love the music from the Dirty Harry films. Done by Lalo Schifrin, a jazz composer.

The Blue Danube from 2001: Space Odyssey.
It seems like a really off the wall decision to make a futuristic sci-fi film and use an old Strauss waltz in the soundtrack but it all just fits together perfectly.

"Shaft" (1971)
Theme tune by Isaac Hayes - don't come much better than this.

"Zulu Dawn" (1979)
A superb movie and the soundtrack by Elmer Bernstein is an all-time great but you really need to see the film first and then the soundtrack can be related to events.

I admit it, I'm a John Barry fan and a Michael Caine fan and so here's another favourite - "The Ipcress File" (1965)

You beat me to it - and the theme is superior to the movie itself.

The Blob was on earlier. It has such a catchy and upbeat theme tune for a horror film.

Only Fools and Horses. An all time classic.
I thought it was Rodney singing it for years.
