"The Ying Tong Song" by the Goons - a re-release from 1956 reached No.9 in the UK charts in 1973. Probably wouldn't get past the 'woke' police today.

And this memorable song from 1913 (lip synched) by Laurel & Hardy in their 1937 film "Way Out West" reached No.2. in the UK charts in 1975 - truly an era when anything could find its way onto the hit parade!

A short-lived punk group called Rich Kids had one hit with Rich Kids. The lead singer was none other than Midge Ure and the lineup also included the original Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock, who founded the group! There would have been a lot of punk one hit wonders around that time.

Not a One Hit Wonder in the UK. This song was followed by If You Go Away which reached No. 8 in the charts. A Two Hit Wonder!

The following song (Money) has been covered by a number of artistes including, believe it or not, The Beatles, but it was a One Hit Wonder (Top 40-wise anyway!) for The Flying Lizards.

Peter Skellern (1947 - 2017) - a two hit wonder but this is the one that most of us oldies remember.

Timmy Thomas - 'Why can't we live together' (1973). While he had success in the US this was his only biggie in the UK charts.
