I've got a network of ditches around the place so one of my favourite weird hobbies is going around and seeing the flow of water from them. I'll be getting my waterproofs and wellies on now and going to take a walk around :D

The only thing is the field my orchard is in is flooded at one side so I'll probably have to run a few land drainage pipe into it during the summer.

It's been absolutely pouring out there for a few hours now - puddles appearing on the gravel which rarely happens. The ground can't take much more rain.

was a decent day here - plenty of sunshine and not too cold, but it is quite windy. Unfortunately, looking at the GFS charts I see more rain over the next few days - but who knows how accurate they are.

So, after a lovely 10 days of Spring sunshine, it looks like we're in for a week or so of a cold snap, with single figure temperatures during the day and minus night-time temps and frosty mornings. Wrap up folks. We've had it too good, too early!!!

If I can get out of a dinner invitation for Friday evening, I'll be hoping to wake up to snow on Saturday morning! And then go walking in it. 8-)

That is a VERY wild, wintery and wet night out there. Cold too! Last week we were out in our shirt sleeves!! The old tradition of The Borrowing Days springs to mind.

I was expecting trees down this morning from what I was listening to in bed last night. Thankfully none. Easing off a bit now here in NCD. Would be great if the temperature would rise a bit.

A 'hardy' one in Enniscorthy this morning - very cold last night but the Chiffchaffs were singing first thing.

Hereabouts, UV-index 7, 18°C in the shade ... but there is no shade. 8-)

No wind either, so "feels like" 30°C when shifting rock. I've come in to cool down.
