No matter what type of music I'm scrolling through. I always refuse to click on it as judging by the face on the video its probably butchering the Simon & Garfunkel version.

Maybe the youtube algorithm is putting musical preferences into the disturbed category and throwing me out that band. Fook off Disturbed I'm not biting ever.
It's a really beautiful version K! Go listen to it and you'll love it :)

That's an American metal band covering that same Simon and Garfunkel song.
Not worth a click.

Memory.

Just staring at a terabyte of it sitting, vulnerable, on the table and thinking back to when I got my first computer and was so, so, so pleased to have been able to go straight for the high-powered version with 48 kilobytes instead of 16. :geek:

I picked up the terabyte SSD cheap because it's "just" a terabyte.

So now my cheapy laptop has two terabytes to play with.

I'm still using my 9 year old macbook pro here and it runs as well as it did the day it was new. Never been reinstalled. Never interrupted my use of it with some random update crap. It was an expensive machine to buy, they always are. But at about €230/year averaged over 10 years (because it will easily keep doing its thing for another year), it's been much better value than ANY windows computer I ever owned.

What's on my mind? How did I not murder someone in the 25 years or so I worked in IT roles with Windows operating systems? And how did it take me so long to spare myself the absolutely unadulterated anger experienced with Windows machines at home before I saw sense?

"An idle brain is the Devil's workshop" proverb comes to mind when I'm flutting around the place doing nothing. My brain inevitably starts wandering and dreaming up another solution to a problem that will lead to another drain on my bank account. 14 bags of bord na mona potting compost that has hardened into blocks and the simple solution would be to throw it into an area on my garden that could do with some conditioning of the soil... but no... KHD's brain has come up with an idea of creating a big bed in the front of the house that will be filled with nothing but Dahlias. Big tall dinner plate sized Dahlias... The eventual bankruptcy of KHD continues uninhibited.

Create yourself a Patreon account and a YouTube channel talking about these mahoosive peat-fed dahlias you're going to grow, and upload a video twice a week of yourself talking shoyte. People will throw money at you.

That's how the internet works these days, so it seems.

I literally couldn't do that. Not just because of the insect cruelty but because of superstition. My granny was as close to a witch as you could get, being a reader of cards, and a teller of wild tales, and she had me trained from birth in superstitions.

You know when you're eating and you pick up a nearby crumb from the table and just straight away eat it, recklessly hoping for the best.
I think there's philosophy in that.

Creepies

Well it's the spiders (vomit) that turn me in to a shivering crying sweating mess. Even one's on print or television. Not cartoon type ones though, like the little yoke in your post Isha is ok.

I've considered getting help for my phobia but it would likely involve the slow introduction of the little beasts in to my sight and I just can't.

I'm on a roll today friends so brace yerselves.

I think my sock-knitting ancestors are the original existential nihilists. This sock is less than a month old. I feel your anguish, my forebears 😓
