Re: Post what's on your mind
When we moved out of our ramshackle no electricity no toilet cottage about 15 years ago, to a spanking new house, one of my biggest adjustment s was i really missed spiders. It felt so weird. Now I am over run by them, sometimes to the point of WTF. When my youngest son was smaller he said "it's because they know they're safe here."Diamonds of Frost wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 11:21 am Creepies
Well it's the spiders (vomit) that turn me in to a shivering crying sweating mess. Even one's on print or television. Not cartoon type ones though, like the little yoke in your post Isha is ok.
I've considered getting help for my phobia but it would likely involve the slow introduction of the little beasts in to my sight and I just can't.

It's a kind of throw brought back many years ago by my husband's parents from Africa. I use it on the couch.Diamonds of Frost wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 11:28 am Is that a cushion or duvet cover or tablecloth? It's lovely

Now I am going to stop after this but I wrote two little ditties today, one upbeat to encourage the young, and the second to appease my dark side. These fecken winters drag on forever. I think Hairy Joe will particularly enjoy the moss on my car light.
In these wet hills we are embossed
With algae, mould, mycelia, moss.
In these wet hills we must endure
Fungus, entropy, mud, manure.

Moss really thrives on vinegar....
That's my "chemical free" way of getting rid of it.

Freeeeeeedommmmmm!
As Mel might say.
Job done; contract finished; time to leave the depressing wastelands of Flanders and Picardy behind and re-join the 21st Century.
Only I can't leave till the Boss Lady turns up with my payment, which is not necessarily a sure thing because she "forgot" to pay her sole employee on time at the end of January.

One for the wrecking ball, it's a mish-mash of awfulness that needs to be put out of its misery but thanks for posting.Diamonds of Frost wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 4:35 pm https://www.irishtimes.com/property/res ... nvestment/

I think it's lovely. But I would have to knock down all the houses around it so I could have SPACE. If I had that much money to spend, I'd probably buy a small island where no one else lived.

Re: Post what's on your mind
Speaking if SPACE, anyone following the Chinese Spy Balloon story ? Funny response from Flightradar responding to a tweet.
Re: Post what's on your mind
I'm finding the balloon thing hilarious. On twitter there's all sorts of people coming out with theories that it contains a deadly virus, that it could be some sort of nuclear emp device etc..The Chinese could have made a fortune with advertising on this thing.

This is what they are doing, its become too expensive to host so they want to guarantee we'll do shit every year ... this is also why Father Ted was great - it's a documentary - exaggerated of course, but a documentary on life in Ireland none the less!

The house. Aye it's a bit of a mess but I can see it's beauty. Similar built in an isolated place would be just the thing.

There’s no substitute for a rasher sandwich and a mug of tea when you get home after a few pints of stout.
