Post what's on your mind
Re: Post what's on your mind
@KHD, enjoy the break and hope to see you back at some point and as others have said, nothing wrong with a bit of crankiness.
The other thing on my mind is that I have a health screening tomorrow. So I probably shouldn't be having this can of beer:)

If it's for your own well-being, then fair enough and good luck; you'll be missed.KHD wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 7:50 pm Best of luck ladies and gentlemen. Unfortunately I'll have to love you all and leave you. I've put in a couple of rough posts lately which is not who I am, but I've went and posted them and its not right on the recipients of these posts as they are good posters. I've had a tendency recently to lash out at people, which is not good for the health or general atmosphere of the place so on that note I'm heading for the hills. I was going to disappear quietly but that would be rude as your are all a great bunch of misfits. I hope you all understand that I have to do this and nothing at all personal to any of ye.
If it's to avoid hurting the feelings of anyone else here, then I'd be the first to tell any such snowflake to "man up" and learn to look beyond the odd passionate outburst.

Ah geez KHD ,you'll be missed. Thanks for challenging the norm and come back soon.KHD wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 7:50 pm Best of luck ladies and gentlemen. Best of luck to all, keep the place rolling as Gubu is an extremely important outlet for people, no matter how small the site is, its out there and available to people who wish to discuss topics and have conversations that are not interrupted by over zealous moderators or groups of weirdos ganging up on posters.
Anyway enough of the negatively as this won't be allowed on Gubu. Good luck and will be back again some stage in the future.

It amazes me how we can become fond of a person simply through the exchange of typed words on a screen.
I will miss you K and please do come back.

Including the heaps of shyte that's going on at the moment for me. But fair enough do what feels best for you. Enjoy the arrival of spring. It better be around the corner is all I can say!!

Had my health screening today and thankfully it went well except I'm carrying 7/8 pounds too many. That's the beer, crisps & white bread knocked on the head for a few weeks:(

I think it went well, but still in negotiations. Hopefully something positive to report soon.
Re: Post what's on your mind
I was going to knock the beer on the head from tonight. But I've one can left over from the weekend. And I couldn't leave it all on its own for the next few weeks. Tonight I'll give it a good home and start from tomorrow

You're lucky that it's 7 or 7 pounds. I was recently told that I've a multiple of that too many.....Happy Days wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 3:16 pm Had my health screening today and thankfully it went well except I'm carrying 7/8 pounds too many. Sat in a Teams meeting that has been going on since 2pm, the most fcking boring thing on the planet - this wagoin thinks they are the only ones that can do their fcking jobs!!!
I used to work with the team and I am getting serious PTSD from the miserable time I spent there!
I've beer in the fridge for the rugby and tbh I don't think it is going to last after tonight ...!!!

I know a lad that has bought himself a jiggler ... it moves the mouse every 10/20/30 etc seconds so he always appears green on Microsoft teams.
He's been doing this for months and company is none the wiser, he says he works approx 1hr a day.
He is my new personal hero.

Getting mightily tired of this type of shite. All my life I have been a Socialist and reformist but the more I read this type of thing, the more likely I am to become a racist and misogynist. Maybe you just weren't good enough.

We had to sit through a shite meeting yesterday that was meant to be about helping students with a disability - practical stuff like.
Ended up being a lecture in woke words - like never say “disability” - yet dyslexia is specifically diagnosed as a learning disability!? You can’t change medical terms cos you don’t like them!!
Tbh we have biology courses in male and female reproduction systems, they’re next for the idiots to have a go at.

Went into the local town this morning to pick up my prescription. Not one disabled parking bay out of about fifteen in all, was available, and only one was occupied by a car with a blue badge. Education my arse, we have the laws, now enforce them.PlaneSpeeking wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 10:32 am Misogynoir ffs!!!

This intersectionality focuses on the subjective experience and leads to many contradictions. That’s the nicest way possible I can think of to say it’s a load of crap.marhay70 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 10:23 am https://edition.cnn.com/2023/02/10/ente ... index.html

Sam Smith at the Brits - what a twat!
He used to be a soulful gay man with the heart of a poet and the voice of an angel.
Wtf???

Re: Post what's on your mind
There's a story now at the top of the RTE website about the rape of two tiny children by a stepfather, facilitated by their mother, and it makes me think very dark thoughts. I think sometimes, and I know it's monstrous, that some people should get a death penalty. I hate thinking that. But I wouldn't lift a finger to save them.
Thinking out loud, and trying to be occasionally less wrong...
