The Coronation. Will you be watching it

With Paul Murphy banging his drum about the evils of Irish people watching the Coronation, I thought I'd ask the GUBU faithful if you'll be watching or not.

While I wont be watching all of it. I'll certainly give it a gander for a while. Its the first Coronation in my lifetime and the to be fair to the Brits, they know how to put on a show

Yes, I am not a royalist but the photography and shots of Westminster interior plus the singing will be amazing.

I remember being really impressed with the 2010 wedding, between ... Prince ... whoever, not the attention seekers ... the decent lad... can't remember his name

If it was the middle of winter, I might have; but with so much to do in house and garden, and these nice long evenings in which to do it, I'll probably settle for a 2-minute YouTube video of the highlights.

I wouldn't watch TV normally of a Saturday,I most certainly won't be watching this anyway,

Whatever do be on the news,is the limit of what I'll see of it.....if the whole country wants to watch it,thus insuring GAAGO app deosnt crash for the hurling Saturday evening,il be more than happy with that 👌

The fanfare will be over by the time Tipp & Cork line out at 7pm. So sadly no guarantees GAAGO wont crash

Well, let's put it like this.
I watch many YouTube videos by Forces News. Some quite informative.
Gave this one thumbs down though.

I would rather be waterboarded by seal team six for the duration of the ceremony, and then have rusty nails inserted into my eyeballs.
Long answer short.....no thankyou marm.

Sure we have our own royalty, strutting in and out of the Dail like he never left.

Definitely not, I get immediately uncomfortable with any sort of pomp and circumstance bollocks . . I'll be out in the garden with me strimmer.

No, I find monarchy distasteful. It's like the czars - massive symbol of inequality. The royals as individuals are mostly all right I'd say (bar Andrew, Margaret, and Charles is supposed to be vile) but the institution is archaic. Fiefdoms should be long gone.

They're still to be found in certain provincial Irish constituencies alive and well, with the entailing dynasties.

Jokes aside I do find it strange that other humans are bestowed with such other otherness. I don't see the royal family as being special or greater than but that doesn't stop my fascination with them. I love reading about them and watching them wondering what they are like when the doors close behind them. Charles seems like a gentle sort of soul who would be happier in his garden than being a king. I don't think he will see the age his mother did and William will be taking over sooner rather than later. He's a different lad entirely to his father.

Technical question friends. The newspapers are saying this giant penis was "mowed" into the grass at the venue for King Charles coronation party afters.... but I speculate that it was caused by weedkiller or something like lime. What thinketh youse? 🤔

Thinking out loud, and trying to be occasionally less wrong...

It's partly funny and partly very mean.
